Nov 24, 2009 Poured a deep brown with a thick tan head that dissipated quickly. Typical porter aromas of coffee and chocolate, a good balance. Tastes much the same but finished on a lingering bitter coffee note. Palate was a bit thin and something just seemed to be lacking in this one.

Nov 22, 2009 Pours black into the glass with an off white head. Aroma smells like a day old coffee filter. Taste is similar with a big coffee flavor, but not really a fresh coffee taste. Really just tasted like old coffee to me. I love Midnight Sun, but this one is a big miss for me.

Nov 21, 2009 Beautiful color. Dark and rich. Pours well with a nice tan foam. Peppery aroma and a very subtle pepper/coffee flavor.

Nov 14, 2009 bottle coutesy of biggcb, thank you! pours black, black and more black with a dark brown head that leaves a lot of lacing. aroma is huge coffee notes, tons of both bitter roasted and sweet toasted malts. taste is really nice, light but bold coffee and roast. some faint brown sugar, oak and dark fruit notes. aftertaste is a nice vanilla coating that fades off of the bitter cooffee taste that lingers. nice mouthfeel, but i really wish it was an imperial/ a bit fuller. super smooth though, nice session beer.

Oct 15, 2009 Bottle. Blackish beer with a tan head. Coffee/espresso aroma with sweet malt. Toffee and coffee flavor with light sweetness and light chocolate. Medium bodied. Coffee and toffee lingers with light chocolate and light hops.

Oct 11, 2009 Huge roasted chocolate nose - deep and rich. Hearty roasted chocolate malt backbone. Medium roasted coffee bean character that is showcased in the silky smooth chocolate finish. One dimensional but really excels as a great textbook example of the style.
