Commercial Description:
Inspired by local artist & roaster Michael Allen's eccentricly-named blend of coffee beans, Midnight Sun's brewers designed a beer recipe and infusion process that perfectly captures the alluring aroma, satisfying flavor and curious legend of Allen's Arctic Rhino Coffee. Arctic Rhino Coffee Porter combines two quintessential Pacific Northwest favorites: coffee and ale. The result is wonderfully romantic and robust--a duel-fueled porter that melds charismatic dark malt with freshly roasted coffee beans. The (un)rest is up to you.

Bomber poured a clear dark brown with red highlights and a lasting tan head. Aromas of coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla and roasted malt. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt and light vanilla with a smooth lingering lightly bitter finish.

Bomber from Liquid Solutions. It smells like good coffee. Dark brown color with ruby hilites. A tan head that quickly ringed. A bit thin in body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Flavor is coffee, maybe with a touch of chocolate, but it’s really all about coffee. The finish is dry and coffee. Almost espresso. Impressive. Glad I tried it.

Liquid sol. The pour is a nice brown with a one finger brown head. Nice coffee aroma, roasty, sweet mocha. Same in the flavor, very nice coffee flavor, roasty, some grain, well blended coffee flavor. The mouthfeel is average, sits fine in the mouth. Delicious.

bomber from samuraiartist, arigato... HUGE explosive POP when i opened this one up. that was followed by a pour of nothing but foam which wouldn’t go away. thirty minutes later... viscous nearly black pour with a huge cocoa head that lasts what seems like forever. pillowy lacing is left in the glass when it finally does settle down. aroma is lightly ashy malt, spent coffee grounds, cocoa and something floral (hops or yeast?) light astringent flavor is the same with a strange floral characteristic that pops up on occasion. it’s got a nice acidic finish and lingering whole bean aftertaste. full bodied super creamy texture. unremarkable and one dimensional but a treat to finally try...

Opaque with a big tan head. Aroma is very roasty, with almond, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is nice and roasty, with a light and subdued hoppiness with chocolate. Body is a little too carbonated for my liking, but doesn’t take away from the beer.

22 oz. bottle - pours thick and dark with quickly fading tan head; aromas of roasted malts mixed in with a grainy and hay like aroma; nice texture and creamy finish in what is a more ’robust’ porter; coffee influence is very subtle in both aromas and flavors, so in that sense it was slightly disappointing; yet this is a still a very delicious porter
