Commercial Description:
Inspired by local artist & roaster Michael Allen's eccentricly-named blend of coffee beans, Midnight Sun's brewers designed a beer recipe and infusion process that perfectly captures the alluring aroma, satisfying flavor and curious legend of Allen's Arctic Rhino Coffee. Arctic Rhino Coffee Porter combines two quintessential Pacific Northwest favorites: coffee and ale. The result is wonderfully romantic and robust--a duel-fueled porter that melds charismatic dark malt with freshly roasted coffee beans. The (un)rest is up to you.

From a 22oz. bottle--Poured a dark brown bubbly body with a small gray head. Nose of strong coffee and bitter sweet hops. Mouth feel is thin and highly carbonated. Flavorful and very very coffee-esque. Left a big lacing in the glass. I expected a little thicker brew, but overall, quite good. Caffeine kept me going well into the night!

Thanks to SamuraiArtist for the bomber. Pours deep brown with a medium head. Aroma of heavy and bitter coffee (roasted) with dark malt and a touch of chocolate. There is some sweetness in the taste; there is some lactose in there. Rich and sticky-sweet mouthfeel. I’m definitely a sucker for coffee brews.

(bottle thanks Skyview) Pours black with a tan head. Nice aromas of dark roasted coffee and roasted malts. Taste is also the same with a nice long lasting roasted finish.

Black with deep brown highlights and a large, thick, brown head. Enjoyable aroma of cofee, molasses, roasted malts, chocolate, and sweet malts. I wish it was a little more blended, but nice. Body is a little on the thin side. Flavor is roasted malts, coffee beans, chocolate, and a hint of metallic. An enjoyable porter, heavy on the coffee. Could go for a thicker body, and a little more complexity in the flavor. Overall a fine brew.

Picked up a 22-oz bomber from Liquid Solutions in Oregon. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a decent tan head that has a slow dissolve and good retention. Aroma of freshly brewed dark coffee, a touch of chocolate and dark roasted malt. Taste is medium to full bodied, very low carbonation with falvors of dark malt and an over-powering coffee flavor. Finish is semi-dry, smooth and a nice coffee aftertaste. No bitterness detected in this fine brew.

This beer has the coolest beer name of all time. Black and low carbonation. Very smooth palate. Aroma and flavor is mild coffee, served cold. Thanks to Skyview for shaing.
