Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jul 17, 2005 Draft sample at the brewery 7/8/05: Very dark brown with a nice firm head (although it subsided quickly). Bountiful coffee nose. Woody bitterness makes this an awesome drinker. BrewDad (1645), Olympia, Washington, USA Mar 29, 2007 Updated: Jul 4, 200822oz Bomber
This was a deep dark bevereage with a dark tan head and aq deep aroma of both chocolate and coffee. This was a near perfect batch of brew. The malts where awesome the flavor was near flawless this was a great beverage and had such rich wonderful tastes. GREAT GREAT job.... leeburg (89), Wrangell, Alaska, USA May 31, 2007 On draft in Seward. Black with tan head, aroma I would expect given the name, and flavors that balanced quite well. Pretty moderate on the coffee and chocolate, sweet and smooth. puzzl (1729), New York, New York, USA Aug 29, 2005 A very nice porter. Pour is pretty deep black with a decent head. Aroma is coffee, hazelnut, a bit of warm malt. Flavor is overwhelmingly coffee but very nice, refreshing, smooth. I’m glad I get to be the one to push this fine to beer to 10 ratings. scraff (1656), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 12, 2005 #600 - Space black, tan creamy head. Nose was definitely espresso-like, but more complex notes of chocolate, nuts, and vanilla shine through as it warmed. Flavor up front was wet coffee grounds, a bit more chocolate, nuts and vanilla, but in comes a light hop bitterness late to keep it decently balanced. Medium bodied and smooth, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Good complex brew that would make for a decent session event. Thanks again to Gary at MS for sending this brew my way...
