COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by local artist & roaster Michael Allen’s eccentricly-named blend of coffee beans, Midnight Sun’s brewers designed a beer recipe and flavor infusion process that perfectly captures the alluring aroma, satisfying flavor and curious legend of Allen’s Arctic Rhino Coffee Blend.

Arctic Rhino Coffee Porter combines two quintessential Pacific Northwest favorites: coffee and ale. The result is wonderfully romantic and robust--a duel-fueled porter that melds charismatic dark malt with freshly roasted coffee beans.

The (un)rest is up to you.

Bottle. Roasty aroma which is burnt charcoal and espresso. The coffee is a bit lighter in the flavor though, which makes it very easy drinking. Nice balance.

Bottle thanks to a generous California trader whose name escapes me. Pours near black with a dark brown head that remains throughout the beer. Aroma is full of coffee with a good amount of roast with not much else. Flavor is similarly full of coffee and roasted malts

22oz bottle -

This beer was full of coffee goodness, and while one dimesional, it’s quite tasty. Aroma was coffee, coffee, and a little more coffee with just a bit of tootsie roll thrown in. Flavor had a nice meld of coffee and chocolate, light molasses, light vanilla and a body on the thin side. Another nice beer from Midnight Sun.

Pours a black color with a big, foamy head...pretty nice lacing and retention. Aroma has notable roasty coffee and mild caramel notes...nice roastiness. Flavor is roasty with light roast coffee. Mouthfeel is lively but thins out just a bit....finish is roasty and leaves just a hint of coffee.

One of the finest looking Porter’s I have ever seen in my glass. It smells slightly vile. And it tastes like soap. It’s a clean glass I poured it in, so this is hard to explain. Disappointment. What’s the saying? "Never judge a BEER by it’s COLOR."

Bottle shared at the 6th annual Richmond Industry Gathering, 11/27/11. Pours a dark brown color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of big peppery and roasty coffee, caramel and roasted malts. The taste is coffee, roasty and peppery notes, bitter hops, roasted malts. Medium-full bodied.

Received in trade from the wonderful MeatLoaf. Pours a deep almost black color, brown head that slowly dissipates and lingers. Smells strongly of coffee and rich malts with a slight bitter chocolate. Tastes, not surprisingly, of coffee. The chocolate stands out more than in the smell. Great coffee porter. I especially enjoy the big taste without the big ABV. A very good beer.

650ml bottle pours black in color with about 3 fingers of tan head that leaves some decent lacing on side of glass. Aroma is coffe and roasted malts. Taste is roasted malts and coffee with a mild hoppy bitter finish. This is a nicely balanced porter with a medium body and mild carbonation and pretty tasty.

Bomber poured into tulip glass. Nice toasty aroma of toffee and caramel. Appearance is dark dark black like a stout. Taste is just like it smells- although I wish this had more booze- I’d like to taste this at around 7%. Palate is nice with good chewy body and the burps are smokey. An overall very well made beer that I just wish was bigger/bolder/boozier but hey that’s just me....
