Commercial Description:
Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight.
This version of Berserker Imperial Stout was aged in both red wine and whiskey barrels. The entire batch was brought back together before being packaged in kegs and 22-oz bottles.

This is a jet black pour with a brown head. The flavor is complex: bittersweet chocolate, anise, vanilla, and whiskey, it’s pretty darn nice.

Bottle. 2005 vintage. Pitch black with a mocha-brown small head. Leafy aroma including some caramel, toffee, coffee, and vegetal doughiness. Chewy, viscous flavour - lots of coffee, some alcohol, and plenty of hop stickiness. Quite sweet though balanced in many respects.

Thanks Puzzl for sharing this one at this CL RB gathering. Black in color with a medium to dark brown head. Aroma jumps out at you, tons of chocolate, moderate roast, caramel, molasses. Taste is also, alot of chocolate, roast, caramel, with a very full thick body, bittersweet. Finishes roasty and bitter. Excellent beer.

Bottle: Thanks puzzl (Andy) for this beauty:Huge beer.Pours an opaque black with a thick cloying body and a deep brown head. The aroma has evident wood, boozeyness, peat, black licorice/anisette. The flavor has a huge malt profile with lots of dark chocolate, boozy notes, lots of licorice-like saltyness. The finish leans more toward a rich roastyness with coffee characteristics and some hop resins are evident. A big, rich and somewhat dry Imperial Stout.

Big thansk to Andy (puzzl) for sharing this bomber at the Captain Lawrence gathering. Pours a thick viscous pitch black with a nice dark tan head. Sweet sticky and syrupy aroma of caramel, molasses, brown sugar, along with some roast, light coffee, tons of chocolate and black patent malts. Thick full mouthfeel- syrupy and sweet, lots of brown sugar, hints of rum, toffee, coffee, lots of dark chocolate, dark dried fruits- raisin/prune, licorice, light smoke and burnt charred wood- black patent malts come through in the end. Woody and charred bitterness in the end.

[270-20070413] 22floz (c/o HogTownHarry, w/ him, blankboy, jerc, mds, tupalev). Marshmallow apple banana sauce with a caramel toasted sugar delay -- like a caramel-drizzled banana sundae special! Dark black brown with a medium-lasting creamy tan head. Very sweet malted roasty sugar-coated banana, very noticeable alcohol, nice aftertaste. Full body, quite smooth. Couldn’t have a lot but wow it’s gooood, and boozy smooth.

Bottle (650ml) shared with HogTownHarry, jerc, mabel, mds & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Vintage 2005. Pours a very dark ruby-brown with an average size light-brown head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, brown sugar and alcohol -- surprisingly sweet. Flavour of lightly roasted malt, hops, a hint of chocolate, dark fruit and some alcohol -- a little sweet too, like tupalev below, it kind of reminds me of a stronger Baltic Porter. Nice medium to full body. Well done, very enjoyable.
