Strong sweet baltic porter like aroma - sweet and very nice. Pitch black, no head. Taste is decadent: silky body, sweet malt, sharp hops and lots of alcohol. Like a very strong baltic porter. A treat. jerc (3888), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Sweet boozy chocolate aroma is lovely, hint of brown sugar. Notes of of dark boozy fruit, mild roast is subtle muted chocolate. Average to medium palate is a touch thin but smooth. (3+) Very nice beer. HogTownHarry (4000), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Shared with blankboy, jerc, mabel, mds and tupalev - my bottle via trade with DarkElf - DarkElf+ Fest ’07!!. Thick, purple-black pour, small tan head. Thick, rich, oily, overroast malt taste, herbal hops, almost sweet, smooth and not overpowering. strong cherry tartness in the finish. Pretty thick, oily, light acidity; silky. Excellent! nolankowal (850), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Black pour with red edges and a tan head. Aroma of bready malt molasses and light elements of bourbon. Flavors of chocolate and coffee stood out coupled with vanilla, oak and othe bourbony traits. Thick mouthfeel, roasty/chocolate finish. MY love for this is ticking clock. jsquire (2100), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

The bottle I got sent from Anchorage was not up to the reputation of Midnight Sun. Black beer with a frothy chocolate brown head. The nose had an odd acetate, celery and balloon sense about it. The flavors showed green coffee bean, celery leaf, some berry fruit and something plastic. Alcohol is too present among the flavors. I expected more from Midnight Sun, and will re-rate if I get the chance in case this was a bad bottle. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma was of chocolate, some alcohol, and some dark fruits. Flavor was of chocolate, coffee, and fruitness. A little hoppy bitterness and some alcohol. Also some burning on the tongue that seemed a little acidic. drewbeerme (2272), Chicago, Illinois, USA

This shit was Good! Charred black body… dark khaki head, aroma of dark fruits, coco, coffee, brown sugar, hints of vanilla and oak chips, the bold ABV is hidden like a bandit. On the sweeter side of Impy Stout, a lesser hopping is great for this style, IMO. Velvety creamy body, sticky, chewy, and rich… really damn good, I really do love this brewery!
