Commercial Description:
Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight.
This version of Berserker Imperial Stout was aged in both red wine and whiskey barrels. The entire batch was brought back together before being packaged in kegs and 22-oz bottles.

Bomber from the Brewery. Slides out of the bottle black with a small mocha brown head. Aroma is bourbon, oak, chocolate and alcohol. The flavor is a big sweet chocolate with a bitterness that creeps in and balances it out. Maybe a bit of hop bitterness but more of a bitter sweet chocolate flavor. Full body with a very mild carbonation and a thick soft mouth feel. This is an amazing Imperial Stout, the alcohol is completely hidden. As it warms different flavors and aromas come out but nothing overwhelms any thing else.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours thick and midnight black with a small, creamy, brown head. The hearty, deeply roasted aroma is all about dark chocolate, blackstrap molasses, assorted berries and leather. Full-bodied with a monstrously thick mouthfeel and dancing carbonation. The flavor is lightly sweet, but presents big time bitterness, acrid gun smoke, pouch tobacco and maduro cigar ash. Even when warmed all the way up to room temperature, the 30 IBUs and black malt ashyness stamp out any semblance of sugar in the finish. This baby doesn’t really come to an end as much as it just fades slowly away… Thanks to ygtbsm94 for shipping this bottle of world class brew my way!

On Nitro tap at the brewery. Pours jet black into the glass and settles like a guiness. Aroma is roasted coffee with some slight vanilla tones. Flavor is big malt with some sourness from the oak. Really terrific beer.

Pours dark brown with a velvety, slightly lighter brown head. Smells of roasted malt, chocolate, some toffee, some cherries. Tastes of chocolate, spicy, some licorice, some fruity hints, dry on the finish.

Bottle shared by stopbarking. Thanks! Pours dark black with a tan head. Smell is rich chocolate and graham crackers with some red wine in the background, and dry roast. Definite notes of wine barrels. Some chalky roast in the flavor. Tasty. ABV is hidden well. Thin body to other stouts this strength, but the smell and flavor are very nice.

2008 bottle. Pure black with a lasting brown head. Lots of coffee and cream in the nose with a but of a nuttiness and berries. Mild and easy to drink flavor. We have a bit of a smore character here. Full body and a little sticky. Pretty good stuff here.

100th rating of this brew. 2008 bottling. Black with a frothy dark brown head. Aroma is black licorice with whisky wood vanilla and black malts. Lightly carbonated, smooth chewy mouthfeel. Great flavor is again black licorice herb and rich, black roasted malts, with an oaky vanilla and dark pit fruit sweetness. Fantastic friggin’ stout.

22. Thanks, SuzyGreenberg! Pours opaque black with a tan head. Vanilla, chocolate and coffee aroma. Medium body and light carbonation. Lightly sweet chocolate, caramel, bourbon and coffee taste with a soft, oaky finish. Very nice.
