Commercial Description:
Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight.
This version of Berserker Imperial Stout was aged in both red wine and whiskey barrels. The entire batch was brought back together before being packaged in kegs and 22-oz bottles.

Bottle courtesy of thirdeye11. Very dark pour. Black color but very little head. Smells of roasted malts and oak flavoring. Taste has woody notes with a slight edge of whisky. Roasted finish.

thanks to beerlando for sharing! Rich tobacco and molasses on the nose with bitter chocolate. Pours opaque black with a thin tan head. Rich intense chocolate malts with vanilla and molasses flavors with hints of tobacco, very rich but not as intense as the nose lets on. Excellent beer!

Black in color with a small tan head. Aromas are of molasses, coffee, and chocolate. Coffee flavor is prevalent with some cocoa. A smooth, thick body.

22 oz bottle, 2007. Dark brown with a trace of tan haze. Nose is carob fudge brownies and espresso. Drinks lighter than it look with sprightly carb but still retains a creamy feel. Taste is chocolate, coffee, licorice, molasses and burnt marshmallow, especially the smoky notes. Gets better as it warms. Amazing balanced complexity. Wow.

Bottle, from brewery. Shared with ClarkVV. Great nose, sweet. Chocolate, banana, hints of bourbon, subtle yet complex. Orangy brownish black color, good head that faded to a ring, little to no lacing. Funny what a difference a glass can make (see Clarks review). Bittersweet flavor, like aroma. I was getting a little almond, out of it too. Dried fruit comes out as it warms, prune/raisin. Thick body, viscious oily creamy mouthfeel, bittersweet finish. Leaves a powdery coating. Another great brew from Gabe and the crew at Midnight. Please come back to Massachusetts.

bomber - 2008 vintage; jet black with thin brown head; tons of coffee and sweet chocolate; killer smooth, creamy texture with bone dry finish; sweet fruit, chocolate syrup and dank fruit; very solid across the board but not up to the standards they set with sloth; need to revisit with a fresh bottle of the 2009 batch

Vintage 2007, thanks to Tim! Oily, french pressed black; spotty tanned marshmallow goam skirting the surface. Beautiful aroma of belgian chocolate, blackberries, apple fritter with a glaze of wet caramel and cinnamon; lots of ripe dark fruits and soft whiskey cask character. Smooth, spicy smoke, tropical touches of vanilla beans and velvety melon flesh. Understated and brilliant at the same time. Flavor is dark and dense; carefully rounded, sophisticated, exciting. Very vinous with cabernet grapes and cognac cherries, but also pleasantly dry with baker’s chocolate and lightly acrid with sumatran dark roasted peaberry beans. Plum skins, light toffee, and a touch of pear; reserved, unique, engaging. Drinkable to an absurd degree, seeming designed to rest comfortably in calm confidence; an astonishingly perfect balance of kinetic and a vast store of potential energy. Medium to full bodied in the mouth, lightly acidic and smeared with viscous caramels and melted white chocolate. A luscious silk of dessert. Finishes smoothly with a prickly bourbon edge and doughy cocoa. Extraordinary; the experience longed for in one simplified but thoroughly polished example.

22oz bottle. big thanks to my alaskan buddy Tim for sending this one multiple times (i won’t get into the details)....deep dark, almost black pour with a thin light brown head that gravitated to the sides of the glass...aroma was certainly nice with a focus on bitter chocolate, an adequate roast component, and some wood and bourbon....roasted malt, chocolate cocoa, hints of toffee that become dominated by smoke and ash. adequate carbonation and decent mouthfeel.
