Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight.

Courtesy of After4ever, thanks Tom. It’s pitch-black with a dark brown, creamy head, and the aroma is vinous with notes of roasted malt, plum, prunes, licorice and a little dark chocolate. The flavour is vinous and sweet with notes of roasted malt, licorice, plum, dark chocolate, dark fruits, light wood, weak hints of smoke and the finish is slightly dry and bitter. It’s harmonic, vinous, soft and nice!!

22 oz bottle shared at Footbalm’s place - I can’t remember who provided the bottle, but thanks! - Totally opaque black color with tiny brown head. Aroma has roasted malts, notes of tart cherries, light caramel. It is creamy, slightly salty. Flavor is malty, with bitter roasted malts, caramel, oak, and a bit of ash. Finish is slightly sweet.

2008 bottle courtesy of Smellysell from TBS. Thanks! Pours a pitch black with a brown head, starting to lose carbonation. Smell is strong and somewhat tart, sharp. Taste is definite coffee and very roasty. Like a cup of black coffee. Very creamy without a ton of carbonation. Very good.

2009 Bottle - Thanks Buckeyeboy!! - Pours thick and almost black with a large dk brown head...aroma is just as bold, rich cocoa and caramel, astringent burnt wood and tons of dark malt, light dried fruit...flaovur is very similar, rich and velvety in the mouth, very little alcohol is noticable, tons of cocoa and dk malt, not too much barrel that I was able to pick out, but pretty tasty...

In short: A big thick mollassy roasted imperial stout. Is it a beer? Is it a meal? It is great
How: Bottle 22oz. This bottle was vintage 2008. Consumed when about 1.5 year of age. Sent to me by ygtbsm94 and brewolf. Thanks a lot Brad and Michael
The look: Black body topped by a tan head of foam
In long: The beer smells “big”. Aroma of some kind of molasses cake. Taste is medium roasted, big cushiony cake like maltiness, dominant flavor of molasses cookies, moderate barrel presence with only a little bourbon, warming alcohol sensation, a tiny little bit vinous. Body could not be any more full. There was some alcohol presence but nowhere near the actual almost 13%. And that’s not because I had a tiny sample at the end of tasting session. This was the second beer of the day after a 5% jolly pumpkin, shared with two people, and the alcohol and size of the beer wasn’t aggressive at all. I could drink pints of this monster beer. Another excellent beer from Midnight sun. I wonder if Sarah Palin can see the Kremlin from the brewery.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Murky, tarry opaque black body, medium creamy brown head. Thick, smoky nose, with tarry burnt sugars, molasses, maple, coffee, and musty oak. Inky, salty body, thick and viscous but pleasantly carbonated, with molasses, roasted malts, coffee, and maple, leathery, tannic, and rich. Best enjoyed as a few-ounce sample, the overwhelming flavor profile becomes cloying after a few draws. Still, this is quite good.

black pour with minimal, fading beige head. aroma of huge licorice, tobacco, molasses, cocoa, maple and vanilla. flavor is a huge sugar mess, ala bells 9000 or avery impys..big fig and raisin. huge tobacco finish with just a touch of anise. oak is everywhere without being overbearing
