Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Jun 28, 2007 Bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours a red hue with a white head. Smells of citrus, , sweet malt, some yeast. Tastes of pine, citrus, some sweet malt, earthy, some caramel, lots of sugary toffee. Mouthfeel is thick with a citrussy finish. grandet (477), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA May 23, 2007 Bottle thanks to Beerbill.Dark redish pour with off white head. smell of hops. Taste of rasted malt and hops along with brown sugar. I was very impressed with this. Im looking foward to trying more from these guys soon. Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA Apr 23, 2007 Pours with a deep amber-res body topped by a thick, off-white head with a good amount of lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a piney hoppy bitterness, a note of flowers and a slight metallic note. Full bodied, dry and a bit warming. Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 18, 2007 The aroma is lightly toasty with grassy hops and some grainy notes. Doesn’t smell at all like the citrus/pine hop bomb I expected. Smells more like a Pale Ale and not even an IPA, but it smells good to me. The body is a orange/brown and transparent. It holds a diminishing tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Very muted hop component for the style. Reminds me a lot of Full Sail Amber which I have had a few of recently....a sort of herbal/tea like note that I assume is from the hops. It’s very clean tasting and only lightly malty. I wonder how this qualifies as a DIPA. I personally enjoy it, but I doubt many die-hard hop heads would. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Apr 14, 2007 22 oz. bottle shared by BockyHorsey at our Mesa gathering - Pours a deep amber color with a thin off white head. Very light spotty lacing. Has a light toasted malt aroma. Flavor is also malt with a good bit of bitterness. Medium body. To be honest, this beer was a little dissappointing. I guess I expected a little more from MSB. Still a decent 2IPA. Thanks Bill. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 8, 2007 Bomber. Oct. 06. Beer is clear, medium-dark reddish-brown color. Head is initially small, beige, frothy, medium-large. Diminishes into specks of lacing and a skim of vapor.

The aroma is malty with moderate notes of toasted grain, biscuit, caramel; Hoppy with a light notes of bright lemon, resin; Yeasty with a light note of sour-cream laced dough; Trace miscellaneous note of vanilla.

The flavor is moderately bittersweet, trace bright acidity, the finish is lightly-to-moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Some astringency and alcoholic warmth.

The body is medium, the texture is watery-to-velvety and the carbonation is lively.

Tasty ’nuff. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 8, 2007 Bottle (Oct bottling, presumably ’06). Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is dark amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie, caramel, toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, flowers), with a note of black tea. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately bitter, lightly acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/creamy texture, lively/soft carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Very nice for the style, especially in the mouth (the aroma isn’t particularly exciting, but the balance and mouthfeel are great...creamy, and very bitter without being abrasive, with plenty of thick sweet malt to keep it luscious). Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 6, 2007 Shared this 22oz Bottle with Cbkshubert and Bucknaked at a gathering at my place. Citrus aroma and also had a metalic presence on the nose. Amber body with off white head. Had some sugar roasty malt mixed with a fruity plum flavor. Odd mix on the flavor and odd body color for an IPA I thought. But beer was good and left somewhat of a dry aftertaste.
