| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2007 Bottle (Oct bottling, presumably ’06). Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is dark amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie, caramel, toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, flowers), with a note of black tea. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately bitter, lightly acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/creamy texture, lively/soft carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Very nice for the style, especially in the mouth (the aroma isn’t particularly exciting, but the balance and mouthfeel are great...creamy, and very bitter without being abrasive, with plenty of thick sweet malt to keep it luscious). | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2007 Shared this 22oz Bottle with Cbkshubert and Bucknaked at a gathering at my place. Citrus aroma and also had a metalic presence on the nose. Amber body with off white head. Had some sugar roasty malt mixed with a fruity plum flavor. Odd mix on the flavor and odd body color for an IPA I thought. But beer was good and left somewhat of a dry aftertaste. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark
