Commercial Description:
When the loveable "hopheads" at Humpy's Great Alaskan Alehouse requested a winter version of alehouse favorite Sockeye Red IPA, our brewers instinctively spawned CoHoHo Imperial IPA. CoHoHo begins with generous measures of pale two-row and specialty malts along with spirit-boosters like maple syrup, brown sugar and honey. Hefty doses of Cascade, Centennial and Simcoe hops beautifully balance that outrageous malt bill and heighten the festive character of this exuberant beer. Whatever the celebration, make merry with CoHoHo Imperial IPA.

22 oz bomber into a Snifter style glass. December 2005 bottling. Pours a mainly amber tone with a bit of a golden brown hue to it. Light off-white head with decent retention. The aroma is exactly what it needs to be: a hopped up piney blast with hints of dough and yeast. Some fruit is detectable as well. The flavor brings a straight forward sweet malt in the front moving into a sprucey, very citrused, and piney body, ending in a very present, but balanced bitter hop end that lingers beautifully. 8% ABV very well hidden. Very resiny on the palate, coating it and sticking. A quality IIPA.

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with a huge rocky off-white head, mostly diminishing, excellent lacing. Aroma is average malt (cereal, meal), heavy hops (perfume, pine, spruce, resin), average yeast (dough, sweat) with notes of heavy alcohol and apple. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity, heavy bitterness and minerals. Medium bodied, thin texture, soft carbonation, and bitter finish.

This is simply one of the best beers produced in the state of Alaska. Alaska produces some extremely delicious beers, so that is no small compliment.

2003 expirey, received from Liquid Solutions earlier this year. An Xmas beer, a super-IPA, so bitterness and malting expected. This mellowed superbly, bitterness well contained in great malting. A good one. Carmel, fruitiness, barleywine-ish, . Nice grapefruit and head colouring.

This bottled brew poured a large sized head of foamy yellow white colored fine to large sized bubbles that left behind a transparent brown colored softly carbonated body and a fair lacing. The aroma was of dark brown malts and hops. The mouth feel was mildy tingly from start to finigh with a hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt and hops with nothing notably distinguishing about it. Yet a vey good brew.

Many Thanks to some misplaced named RateBeerian!

I’ve really been looking forward to this beer!
Pours a dark amber body, looks like dried pine sap. The head is ivory and laces the entire glass. Aroma is BIG, very spicy and citric. The malt is chiefly abundant, slightly caramelized and mildly smoky, a hint of peat. Pinesap, plum, dates, honeydew, and a hint of pineapple are all mentionable. The palate is viscous, fine bubbled, sticky and ends very dry! - This is one knurly Double IPA!

Mullman brought this to the last HWOH. THank!! Pours a medium amber slight haze a thin lasting off white head. Aroma is citrusy and pine - maybe chinook and columbus? Citrusy and mint hop flavors with a nice strong crystal malt backbone. Smooth mouthfeel and a very strong bitter finish. Awesome DIPA.
