Commercial Description:
When the loveable "hopheads" at Humpy's Great Alaskan Alehouse requested a winter version of alehouse favorite Sockeye Red IPA, our brewers instinctively spawned CoHoHo Imperial IPA. CoHoHo begins with generous measures of pale two-row and specialty malts along with spirit-boosters like maple syrup, brown sugar and honey. Hefty doses of Cascade, Centennial and Simcoe hops beautifully balance that outrageous malt bill and heighten the festive character of this exuberant beer. Whatever the celebration, make merry with CoHoHo Imperial IPA.

(Bottle 65 cl) Clear, dark amber golden with a dense, off-white head leaving laces. Fresh aroma of grapefruit and pine needles. Body is medium with lightly sweet malt notes. Fresh, somewhat soapy hop accents. Has a distinct bitterness. Courtesy of Degarth. 220207

hops dominate the smell, with a dark clear red/brown color. Small/medium white head. body is surprsingly smooth and the hops only take over for the finish.

Bomber, Sept 2003 bottling. Medium reddish maple cast, thick foamy head. Really lovely aroma featuring grapefruit, cherries, orange, very fresh and hoppy. On the tongue, nicely balanced with firm maltiness underlying the bold bitter exterior. Creamy-to-syrupy mouthfeel...fairly bitter but wet and juicy finish, very "green." I like it, but it doesn't seem as finished or complex as a Dreadnaught or 90 Minute. Quite good overall, a good session IIPA.

This brew pours a thick brownish copper pour. Decent cream colored head. Nose is all sappy, resiny pine. Flavor is slightly malty with a big pine forest hop presence. Balance is decent but seems to lack in complexity. Good but there are definitely better Imperial IPA's.

Light amber body with good head. Heavy hop presence on the nose with same on initial taste. Light malt balances the hops through the middle with a smooth balanced finish.

Thanks to LP for this one, This has been on my wish list for some time. Amber to copper color with a moderate off-white head. Earthy malt and citric hops mix well in the nasal passages with a touch of fresh bread and light herb. Flavors of eating a biscuit while on the shores of a remote lake and having a drink of grapefruit juice. Earthy as in the nose. Linger of strong green hops. A nice, more traditional, IPA.

Thanks to xmarcnolanx for sharing this brew. Pours bronze with an off-white head. The aroma has very dank oniony hops with lightly sweet fruity hops as well as perfume and pine. Medium very smooth body with light semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with toasty malt, sweet dankness and woody / earthy hops. The finish adds light spicy hops. Very good IIPA.
