Belgian-style Chocolate Milk Stout 5.3% alcohol by volume - 13 IBUs

P3 = third planet from The *Midnight* Sun

Mother Earth is the rich fertile “living” planet. Our Earth combines pale and dark malts for essential body. Cocoa nibs—decadent chocolate in its most elemental form—add distinction. Lush lactose creates incredible creaminess. But Earth gains amazing ground with extensive aging on Bergerfield extra dark cocoa.

LOGISTICS LOG: incorporate rich earthy flavors of dark malted barley, cocoa nibs and powder, and Belgian yeast. increased creaminess with lush lactose. primary fermentation and aging in stainless steel vessel. conditioning achieved in bottle and cask. much more research required. .

Pours dark brown color with a huge khaki head. A definite acetone aroma to this one. Some weird green apple notes to go along with roast and some mild coffee. There is a little bit of sweetness of malt and chocolate, but there’s too much acetone and green apple. Medium body with high carbonation.

Bottle shared with blankboy, garthicus, mabel & jerc - courtesy of mabel & jerc. Consumed and notes taken on Jan 16, 2009. Deep brown body with a dark tan head. Aroma is magnificent - big sweet malt, cocoa, coffee grounds, milk candy, and a bit of smoke. Flavour follows with the same characteristics, although a bit more subdued than in the aroma, and with a pleasant bit of Belgian-style funk lurking in the finish.

(sampled at Dak’s Memorial Day tasting. Thanks Dak!!). Pours dark brown with a red hue and khaki head. Aroma is soy, coffee and milk chocolate. Taste is sweet malts with some roasty bitterness. Thin bodied with an oily texture. Smooth finish. A pretty good beer that is big on chocolate.

22oz. bottle tasted at Daknole’s Memorial Day "Throw Down". Bottle shared by Dak. Pours black, with brown head. Aroma is fantastic with sweet milk chocolate, cocoa, malt, and all things chocolate. Sadly the taste comes up short, (unfulfilled potential). This one had a chance to be really good. Still a nice drinkable stout, with a sweet and then slightly bitter finish.

Another one shared by Dak. Oh man, if the flavor lived up to the nose!!! Tons of cocoa, fudge, milk chocolate and brownies. Flavor shows a bit of the Belgian influence but is really flat flavor wise and is somewhat subtle. Nothing really pops. Kind of thin, as well.

Midnight sun earth. Bottle from Vince... Pours a close to black pour with a thin tan head... Ashy smoked malt with a roasted chocolate note... Dry ashy roasty milk chocolate with a very thin mouthfeel. Body isn’t all quite there for me 7/3/7/3/14

Bottle sent by Ira and shared by Drew, thanks! Pour is black with a rich looking brown head. Pours like an imperial stout. Aroma has notes of dark chocolate, light lactose, cocoa powder, and a light spiciness. Palate is quite effervescent with a slightly thinner body than I expected. Quite easy to drink. Flavor is also dark chocolate and cream with hints spice in the finish. Pretty good beer.

Pours black with tan head. Nose of bakers chocolate, flavors of dark abd bakers chocolate, cream, vanilla, slight spicy peppery thing finishing it out. med body.
