Commercial Description:
Voluptuous yet elegant, Epluche-culotte Trippel exudes its free spirit with orangey-amber color topped with a creamy white head. The aroma is sweet, spicy and earthy. The addition of Curacao (bitter) orange peel and whole coriander infuse color, citrus and spice while a special Belgian yeast strain imparts other enticing flavors and aromas during fermentation. Bottle conditioning creates the right effervescence for a perfectly heady experience. In the style of a Belgian Trippel, Epluche-culotte is delicious yet spirited. Originally named Extreme Polar White Bier, it got nicknamed "Panty Peeler" . We say it in French: E'pluche-culotte. The joyride awaits.

Mostly clear and bold orange in color with a fizzy, bubble popping head. Yeast funk right away in the nose, along with pepper and anise, cinnamon and honey undertones and a baguette breadyness. Tingly, effervescent, bright palate. Carbonation subsides and we’re dealing with a delectable display of flavor. Coriander and nutmeg spice up a crescent roll bread persona. A slight hint at orange musk. Moderate spicy hop character. Totters carefully between bitter and sweet, and comes out as a well balanced winner. Big thanks go out to CaptainCougar for sharing this!

Thanks to Tom for sharing. Pours a light brown w/ a huge frothy white head. Smells of belgian yeast, light fruits, and alcohol. Palate is full, thick, and creamy. Flavor is sweet butter cream and brown sugar w/ carmel. A good beer.

Nearly clear, golden yellow with a generous dense white head. Sharp, tart, lemoney aroma with yeast and apple. Slightly oxidized. Honey sweet flavor with green apple, yeast, some spicyiness(from hops?) and minerals. Finishes long on the tongue.

Bottle: Cloudy pale straw-colored body with amber highlights when held to the light; medium white head. Aroma is hoppy right from the get go, but also has plenty of depth - sweet malts, alcohol, pears, apples. Taste is spicy at first, then fades into honey grains, yeast, and a light fruit tartness. Light bodied, but filling feel in the mouth, medium carbonation. A well executed tripel.

Bouteille Downtown Liquors, Sommerville, Juin 2005.

Pours a light amber with a quickly dissipating head. Brown sugar nose with some secondary alcohols. Taste is candied fruits; apricots, oranges, coconut and apple, with a fair amount of alcohol burn. Nice light body. No bitterness in the finish. This is delicioso.

Pours a clear golden with a thick, white head. Aroma of citrus fruits and yeast. Pretty sweet with notes of citrus/lemon, light spiciness, a floral hop character, yeastiness and some alcohol as well. Has a medium body with lively, prickly carbonation. Good head retention on this one too. Nice brew.

Pours gold with a thin layer of head that magically sticks around forever. Aroma is of slight alcohol, rock candy, light fruits, and hay. Flavor is mild hay, rock candy, and juicy light fruits. To me this is an excellently executed rendition of a very traditional tripel. Its like you have had it before but this time it tastes a bit better, like listening to a master storyteller recant a classic tale you have heard several times before.
