Commercial Description:
Voluptuous yet elegant, Epluche-culotte Trippel exudes its free spirit with orangey-amber color topped with a creamy white head. The aroma is sweet, spicy and earthy. The addition of Curacao (bitter) orange peel and whole coriander infuse color, citrus and spice while a special Belgian yeast strain imparts other enticing flavors and aromas during fermentation. Bottle conditioning creates the right effervescence for a perfectly heady experience. In the style of a Belgian Trippel, Epluche-culotte is delicious yet spirited. Originally named Extreme Polar White Bier, it got nicknamed "Panty Peeler" . We say it in French: E'pluche-culotte. The joyride awaits.

Sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel" tasting. Hazy, dirty orange with small dense white head. Orange, yeasty aroma with alc, oak and dough. Orange flavor with dough, alc, red fruit, will have to try again, very nice age. Medium to full body, well carbonated. Very nice overall as well.

The cap of the bottle produced a bit of an audible "pop" upon opening and the beer poured dark golden with a massive egg white head. Aroma is quite nice with notes of yeast, raisin, and spices. Very spicy, peppery flavor with bits of fruit, orange, maybe a bit of candy sugar. Quite tasty, good Abbey Tripel.

Bottle, thanks to JoeMcPhee. Light orange, yellowish pour. Aroma is slightly funky, but also sweet from fruit and malt. Flavor is sweet banana, citrusy, with some earthy malt and bubblegum also. Pretty tasty beer.

Mmmm. Very nice. Strong smell of orange/banana. Very light yet flavorful taste. Very much like a Belgian tripel. Bit tart, bit spicy. A very good beer.

From a 22oz Bottle, 2003 Vintage. Pours a slightly hazy orangey amber color with a tall layer of soapy white head. Fruity aromas of pineapple and apricots blend nicely with a twist of bourbony lime. Definitely a healthy addition of orange peel and coriander, which is quite prominent in the nose. Medium bodied, prickling carbonated mouthfeel. Lots of spice. Flavors of plantain flesh, nutmeg, orange skins, and a touch of coconut husk. Sweet, but the spicy characters and full carbonation keep it from becoming overbearingly heavy or cloying. A bit of a nutty character comes out on the backend, along with some more yeasty spice.

Beautiful subtle aroma. Touches of pears, yeast spice, honey, merest hint of alcohol, smattering of hops. Shimmering maltiness, smooth, yet full of character, with a cohesive finish. This just seems so restrained and elegant. This is the gold standard when it comes to american tripels. Phenomenal.

Very much a Belgian Tripel. Cloudy, orange with quarter inch head that spans the glass. Bread yeast, fruit and clove aroma. Somewhat tart flavor. Moderately dry, but slightly sweet finish. Excellent beer.

Bottle poured a dark caramel with a big foamy head. Sour, yeasty, fruity, caramel aroma. Flavor is of dark ripe fruits, caramel and a bit candy like. Nice light sweet finish.
