Commercial Description:
Voluptuous yet elegant, Epluche-culotte Trippel exudes its free spirit with orangey-amber color topped with a creamy white head. The aroma is sweet, spicy and earthy. The addition of Curacao (bitter) orange peel and whole coriander infuse color, citrus and spice while a special Belgian yeast strain imparts other enticing flavors and aromas during fermentation. Bottle conditioning creates the right effervescence for a perfectly heady experience. In the style of a Belgian Trippel, Epluche-culotte is delicious yet spirited. Originally named Extreme Polar White Bier, it got nicknamed "Panty Peeler" . We say it in French: E'pluche-culotte. The joyride awaits.

The body is a dark, cloudy amber with a smaller head than the Maitresse du Moines, but still sizeable. The aroma has a huge touch of lemon fruitiness with a backing load of apricots followed up by a yeasty spiciness that is just wow. The tingling touch of alcohol in the background just adds to the aroma. The flavor has a bit of toasty malt in it and is lightly sweet. The yeasty flavors flow and intermingle wonderfully to make perhaps the best Belgian tripel-style beer brewed in America. Better than even the Maitresse overall.

22 oz capped bottle [Dec. ‘03 bottling, sampled Feb. ‘04]: bronzed honeycomb in my glass. Dense, fizzy fluff that settles into a thin patchy cream. Estery aroma of sweet flowers, perfume, peach rock candy, bubble gum, buttered toast, and fennel. Yeast tickles the nose. Soft fluffy palate that offers both a delicate, clove/pepper spice at the back of the mouth and luscious fruits to the tongue. Flavours include passion fruit, strong yeast, thick caramel-honey, buttery grain, warm French bread, green apples, white grape juice, and bittersweet flowers. What a great Trippel!

Sunlight bouncing off of peaches hue. Lasting, sticky, Saturn-esque rings of foam. Aroma is that of apricot-sourdough bread. Sweet, almost marmalade flavors bounce off of the balanced hops. A touch of wheat and barley. Delicious!

Two year old bottle supplied by the way too generous TAR, thanks again jeff.Crisp yellow body with a resilent white head. This makes my nose happier than anything that I’ve ever put in it. Orange sherbert and vanilla ice cream, just so damn enticing. Flavor wise this is solid, some vanilla and melon with lemon and tapioca. A nice yeast in the finish. Wow, this is amazing. One of those beers I’d rather smell than drink, yet still tastes great. Ap-3 ar-10 tas-8 pal-5 ov-18

Bottle. Fine aroma. Brown with light head, spicy taste, fine brew. Surprised the label met ATF approval.

Bottled 3/2003. The joyride awaits indeed! Pours a hazy orange with a big fluffy white head that over some five minuets time fell off to a loverly white lace ring around the Leffe chalice it fills. Aroma is musty, earthy, fruity, spice. Flavor is unbelievable for it’s age, for it’s age nothing! This triple/white? has aged incredibly well, I am just knocked over by the complexity on offer. Flavor is incredible, I’m really shocked to say the least! Crisp, spicy, citrus (orange), caramel, yeast with a long, long spicy bitter finish. I found two bottles and the first bottle was somewhat less then stellar, but this bottle has aged incredibly well. This is the bottle we all hope for when we open a vintage bottle, it just transcends greatness. Yum! YMMV!!!

Pours a somewhat cloudy gold into the glass with a white head. Aroma is spicy with notes of apricot and orange. Flavor is wonderfully akin to the aroma. The body is soft and carbonated. Really an incredible brew.
