Bof.

She pours a somewhat hazy golden yellow color and leaves the same colored body with a slim half finger white foamy head that dies within a half minute leaving some nice clingy lacing sticking tot he sides of the glass.
The smell starts off with that "iced apples" thing I normally use to describe a fair amount of tripels and then combines with a very strong lemon and coriander sort of spicy character, some Belgian yeasty notes come out but they’re extremely subdued for the most part of the beer.
The taste is bittersweet perhaps becoming tart through a combination of the lemon finding its way to intricate itself amongst the flavoring, super dry lemon-like aftertaste and finish.
The palate is light to medium, harshness comes at me like a brick wall - wow - pummeling my taste buds into submission. Carbonation is not smooth in any sort of way.
Overall, well, if anything this lives up to its name, its a fallen angel, one who is bitter and harsh for what it portrays to the drinker. For a Belgian Strong Pale Ale, I say this is good. Would I have this again, hmmm...., maybe, I think there’s a good chance. I could definitely see this with a nice broiled fish dinner, perhaps some King Salmon.

Sifter at Alehouse in SAMO. Well balanced Belgian-style golden. Dry with subtle spice. Smooth. Classic Belgian flavor.

Bottle, 2012 vintage picked up around Christmas last year that I had forgotten about or likely would have opened much sooner. Still lively carbonated, a light orange/copper colored pour with a modest white head. Mild nose is lightly fruity and mainly the yeast. A little dry and floral too. Overall a nice flavor profile of fruits, yeast, and florals. Some swirling pittedfruits… maybe apricot and/or tangerine. I’m picking up some floral bitters in the tail, which I perceive as odd, but enjoyable. Comes together well, but falls short of justifying the $9.39 price tag.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big pear, apple, apricot, grape, clove, pepper, banana, bread, candi sugar, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and nice complexity of fruity/spicy yeast notes with a moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of pear, apple, grape, apricot, banana, clove, pepper, bread, candi sugar, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, apricot, banana, clove, pepper, bread, candi sugar, herbal and yeast earthiness. Very nice complexity of fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly slick and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Belgian strong pale ale. All around nice balance and complexity of yeast ester flavors with a balanced malt backbone; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Hazy orange pour with a thin head. Notes of citrus. Not sure that I can compare this to another. It is unique and good.

Great hazy and vibrant orange coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of yeast, honey, wheat and a very nice curacao and bubble gum sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong yeast and wheat flavour with a great sweetness of honey, caster sugar and even some light fruits. Aftertaste shows a good wheat and yeast vibe with a fairly good complexity, some coriander seed notes and a little bit of other spices. Overall, another great beer from the brewery - and of course, makes me happy to be in Alaska again! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Brown Jug in Anchorage (Northern Lights Blvd), Alaska on 22-May-2013 sampled later in the evening on 22-May-2013 in my hotel room here in Anchorage.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Fairly typical for the style. The aroma is fruity, peper. The color is gold, sl hazy, white head. The flavor is like the aroma, sweet fruit, spicy pepper, yeasty. The finish is peppery, spicy. Medium in body. There is nothing wrong with this beer. It is just really unremarkble.
