Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured golden/amber with a moderate white head. Solid Belgian Golden here. Thick mouthfeel, bitterness and earthy hops with a hefty dose of malt sweetness, bready characters and yeast spice. Bright and crisp, super clean.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark golden color with a medium sized, lasting off white head. The aroma has mild fruit notes, Belgian yeast, mild sweetness, with some herbal notes. The flavor is fruity, citrus, doughy malts, Belgian yeast with a moderate sweetness and a light spicy note.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of fusel alcohol, gum, cotton candy, lemon zest. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic. Pretty rough, surprisingly. Husky malt, very boozy, candy-ish, etc. Not my kind of Belgian strong.

Bottle: Poured a golden color with a creamy off white colored head. Aroma is sweet caramel, floral, and fruit. Taste is a strong floral upfront with clove and spice, transitions into sticky sweet malt or fruit. Leaves the tongue wanting more.

Originally reviewed: 9/21/09. Poured into my tulip glass a murky orange/gold with a big frothy off-white head on top. Retention is minimal, and theres little lacing. Small dark chunks float throughout this brew. Im guessing its yeast. Smells slightly peppery and yet sweet. Mild fruity tones waft out like peach and nectarine. Nice. The mouth is bubbly and crisp, but not harsh in any way. Carbonation level is spot on. This is a tamer version of a Belgian Pale from my experience. The yeasty quality that I find in most is muted; its pleasant. Flavors of honey and nectarines are the main players here. This a wonderful fruit-forward Belgian Pale that I am honored to have tried.
