3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   By the time I poured the remainder of the bottle this one was very cloudy, straw in color, slightly golden (sharper and clearer earlier in the pour), with a frothy white head.   Lacing was spotty.   Bright bready nose, slight alcohol floralness.   Very bready and yeasty on the tongue, bright, a little doughy even.   Has a bit of basement like mustiness to it as well.   A little astringent on the backside.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   This one isnít as bright or floral as other Belgian Goldens, but its okay.   For an American made version, its not bad at all.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle shared by dbsdelight- thanks again, Dan! Says it was bottled 6-6-6 and then Keir bought it in 2008 and gave it to Dan, the master cellar man. Pours a clear yellow-gold color with a small white head. Aroma of sweet and pale malts, candi sugar, honey, apricots, peaches, and light, spicy Belgian yeast. Flavor of the same malts and fruits, candi sugar, spicy yeast, pepper, and straw. Dry finish. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet, dry mouthfeel. This has held up great for 5 years. Probably wonít get better but itís nice right now.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had a bottle of this recently. I had purchased four bottles of this three years ago when I was in Anchorage and then cellared them. Colour...truly golden with quite a froth of bubbles making a thick off white head. Nose...delicately spicy with bits of yeast and candi sugar. Palate... still plenty of effervescence here with notes of candi sugar, apple pie spices, hints of citrus and anjou pear. Overall, seems to have held up well after a few years. Curious to see how the other bottles will age over the next year or two.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Served from a bottle at the OTM tasting room. The appearance is a deep golden with a reddish hue to it. The aromas are a bready and peanut brittle. The flavors really have a strong peanut butter and peanut brittle character to it. There is also a caramel thing going onto of some milder Belgium yeast characters. The sweetness can become a bit cloying. The mouth is medium-full bodied with a sticky creaminess to it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled on 5/7/2011. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a slightly hazy medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to small white foamy head. The aroma is yeasty, fruity and sweet, with hints of apricots and peaches. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Very easy drinking. Hides the alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Iím quite surprised to not see this one performing better than it is on the site. Iím extremely impressed myself. Nice eggwhite head, hazy yellow-orange pour. Nose of lemon and yeast, flavor is lemon and pear skin and a fascinating yeast thing going on and this brown sugar thing coming in later in the palate, rather unexpectedly, warming things up in a way that rather to my surprise works extremely well. Itís not as dry as Iím used to in the style, but it works here; this beer is both distinctive and delicious.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22. Pours a cloudy pale gold with burnished coppery hues in the middle. Loose bubbly fish-eyed white head. Bubbly lace here and there. Earthy phenolic nose, maybe a little bit of aluminum, or maybe thatís actually some fruit skin. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Nutty, green apple-y mid-palate. Kind of an interesting yeast profile on this one. Pleasant, refreshing, lively, and drinkable, if not exactly the most memorable MS beer ever.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Yeasty spicy aroma, notes of bread, pears, apples, a hint of peppery hops. Pours bright golden, nice head and lace. The flavor is more spicy yeast, soft lighter fruit notes with bread and light malty sweetness. A hint earthy with a soft peppery finish. Nice little american Belgian Strong.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle. Rating #86. Hazy golden pour with a decent white head that left a minimal spotty lacing on the glass. Yeast doughy aroma, light fruits, a little pear maybe. Light bitterness and more light fruitiness, slightly acidic, but pretty good. (1650)
