Commercial Description:
Rugged yet smooth, Kodiak Brown Ale sports abundant yet graceful portions of pale and specialty malts, balancing caramel sweetness with a roasted malt character. Perle and Willamette hops accent without overpowering this brown ale's intrepid maltiness. The result is a bit bold but beautifully balanced. That Kodiak Brown Ale is our most popular beer says something about the adventuous spirit found in Alaska. But we are not surprised; we know Alaskans are not afraid of the dark.

dominant nuts in the aroma and very nutty on the tongue. This is just nuts all the way, some malt bitterness, quite drinkable, I´ll have to re-rate someday

Nutty, fruity aroma, with even som chocolate or coffee. Nice lacing. Thin coffeeish and bit nutty flavour. A bit flat and uninteresting.

Reddish-brown in colour with a modest tan head. Aroma of malt and molasses with no noticeable hops. Thick, rich malt sweetness, subtle roastiness with hints of chocolate as well. Surprisingly hoppy considering the lacking hop aroma. Overall a very good and drinkable session brown ale.

One of the better Brown Ales I’ve had, and thats saying a lot. Pours dark brown with a good thick beige head and suprisingly good carbonation. Not too sweet, not as molassesy as many brown or as chocolatey but it is very freshing and not very filling, good unique Brown ale from the North.

Am surprised by the low percentile rating. This was a good brown ale. Poured brownish copper with an off-white head. Aroma was sweet, nutty, malty. Medium body with nice carbonation. Flavor was touched with molasses, some roasted nuts. In all, a very respectable brown ale. Very enjoyable.

Bottled by Uinta in SLC, Utah. Not a bad brown. Had a nice sweet rasty flavor to start. Finished a little watery.

Pours dark reddish brown with a thin off-white head. Taste is slightly sweet with a combination of roasted malt, toffee and some nuttiness. I enjoyed this brew.

Excellent beer. I prefer nut browns on the lighter side (Sam Smith, Newcastle) but this was very nice in its own right. Deep brown color, quick dying off white head. Roasty taste and smooth finish. Got much better as it warmed up. Couldn’t drink more than a pint’s worth though, which is bad for a brown which is usually a session beer.
