The smell of roasted malt, toffee and coffee. Taste of sweet malt, roasted malt, and toffee. A little too much coffee taste for the style, I think. A hint of bitterness on the aftertaste, that is nice. It adds a little balance to the brew. A light body beer that is still pretty good. robforbes (1090), Bremerton, Washington, USA

Probably one of the "lamer" brews I’ve had from Midnight Sun. Pours a lightly hazed medium brown with a good sized beige head. Nose was quite nutty with toasted malt and light hops. Flavor was much of the same. lakersfan16 (53), Anchorage, Alaska, USA

Pours a very deep ruby-brown with an average size frothy off-white head. Aroma is lightly roasty along with the "metal" I usually get from ’Browns’, some caramel and chocolate, and finally nuts. The "metal" or light sourness goes away after a while. Flavour’s a bit watery but still good, it’s dry, lightly roasty and with a nutty finish. Average bodied. This is not a favourite style but this is a pretty good version.
