COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rugged yet smooth, Kodiak Brown Ale balances caramel and roasted malts with enticing Northwest hops. Perle and Willamette hops accent without overpowering this American brown ale’s intrepid maltiness. The result is uniquely delicious.

Inspired by the adventurous spirit readily found in Alaska, Kodiak Brown Ale invites you to take the road less traveled. Kodiak has remained one of our most popular beers since we first fired up the brew kettle in 1995, proving that Alaskans are not afraid of the dark.

Pair Kodiak Brown Ale with comfort foods—macaroni and cheese, lasagna, burritos; pub grub—burgers, nachos, deep-fried bites—and just about anything prepared on the grill. You can also just kick back and enjoy a tall cool one when you want to relax and enjoy LiFe.

Pretty decent for a brown. Pours a dark robust brown and the taste has a hint of hops. Not too much going on with it

Aroma of grain and cola. Pours a cloudy brown with a robust tan head and medium lacing. The taste is malt forward and slighly sweet. Toasted malts, nuts, with hints of caramel. There is a nice slightly bitter finish. Medium-full body with medium carbonation. Overall, this is a well balanced and enjoyable beer that is very tasty.

bottle. Brown with small head. Mildly sweet with big malty backbone. Solid brown ale with no off notes.

Aroma is dark malts, mild nuttiness and earthiness/mild sweetness. The flavor is nutty malts, mild fruit/berries, a hint of citrus and a tart/slightly sweet finish. Understated, a sign for a good brown ale.

Bottle from Ashburn Wine. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. Slight caramel malt on the nose. Nice caramel and nut on the tongue. Finishes clean. Solid example of style.

Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of graininess, cocoa and light carmel. Palate was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of cocoa, carmel and earthiness with a crisp lingering cocoa finish.

Nutty and metallic with little bit of chocolate and toast. A bit thin and lacking richness. Feels a bit watery and not complete. Good but not great.

This is a little old, just an oxided lame brown ale, damn that sucks oh well.

Bomber from Dice. This is one I have wanted to try for a while. A cherry red clear pour with a nice tan fluffy head. This brings some nice roasted notes with citrus hops and pleasant nuttiness. Bitterness from the hops and the roast is just right. A creamy feel. Some mint in the after taste. This is not a disappointment.

22 oz. bottle- Pours very dark ruby red with a nice fluffy two finger head that takes it’s time receding. Aroma has that weird smell that I can never identify yet is very noticeable, not unappealing, just kind of odd. The taste is kind of odd too, you do get the roastiness of the malt, some nuts, but that odd aroma transfers over to the taste, I wish I knew what that was, almost like a sour note. Body could be fuller, carbonation is medium high. Overall there are better brown ales out there.

Can. Pours clear reddish brown with a small brown head and decent lacing. Aroma is light caramel, toffee, bit of cardboard. Flavor is better, lightly sweet, malt, no real bitterness. Medium body.
