| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 26, 2007 Caramel color with a small, tan head. Aroma of sweet carmalized malts, chocolate, burnt, biscuit, and some wood. Body is a little watery. Slightly roasted malts, sweet caramel, chocolate, and a little oak. Finish is malty, bitter, and kinda short. A decent brown, but nothing too exciting here. CheersMate1 (869), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2009 22 oz. bottle from Big Star beer market in Seattle. Brown haze appearance with a head that faded away rather quickly. Pungent sweet caramel malt aroma. Molasses aroma is fairly aromatic. Not much in terms of hop aroma. Beer has a subtle roast flavor followed by a molasses and sweet caramel malt taste. The texture is smooth but the flavor is quite boring. Not very hoppy. Just a boring brown ale. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2008 Received a 22-oz bomber from LiquidSolutions.biz and shared with MN group. Pours a dark cola brown brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and thin off-white ring. Aroma of roasted dark malts, some citrus zest, chocolate, light caramel and a touch of roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of roasted dark malt, some nuts, and a touch of citrus. Finish is light malty with little bitterness. An average brown ale best describes this ale. Beerlando (2370), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Pours a very dark cola brown to mahogany body. A large, creamy crown of tan foam sits atop this brew, leaving behind sheet like lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty, with roasted caramel showing strong over highlights of hazelnut and brown sugar. Mild floral hops are there in the background, but serve as more of an afterthought. The flavor is essentially a mirror of the nose, with caramel and toasty nut flavors comprising the bulk of the taste profile. Finishes short and sweet, transitioning to toasty at the very end. The body was a little shy of medium, which was a bit of a disappointment. I was hoping for something more substantial. Overall, not bad, but lacking in depth or originality.
