On tap at Harry’s Hofbrau. Booze, caramel and dark fruit dominate aroma. Very slight coffee. Moderate bourbon. Black with full brown head that leaves a creamy top throughout. Moderate lacing down side. Rich chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Slight roast in the background. Full viscous mouthfeel. Velvet texture with bitter finish present.

Draft: poured a deep black with a thin beige head. Aroma is woodsy and boosy. Taste is boozy with dark chocolate, some wood taste.

On tap at MSBC. Colour... basically black with a thick tan head. Nose... cocoa powder and charcoal with vanillin and hints of Bourbon. Palate... a nice dry burst starts thing off then the stout starts coating everything it touches. There’s a generous helping of cocoa mass and nibs followed by a dryness that’s nearly tannic before it transcends to a gentle sweetness of booze, vanilla and Hershey Dark chocolate. The dry-tannic aspect comes back a bit on the soft palate to provide a dandy finish. This stout would be fabulous for slow cooking a brisket on St. Pat’s day!

On tap @ MSBC. Very dark brown almost black with a thick, creamy tan head. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, coconut, bitter-sweet chocolate and coffee. Flavor of boozy bourbon and vanilla upfront with bitter roasted malt and a dry cocoa and coffee coming in towards the end. Full body with mild carbonation and a smooth, lush mouth feel. Wow, Mammoth is a great beer but barrel aging this put it over the top. The bourbon and vanilla character goes so well with the base beer, excellent beer.

Draft at the source. Almost black, tan head. Aroma of coffee grounds, vanilla, subtle chocolate. Taste is whiskey, cocoa, espresso. Nice.
