Dickinsonbeer (3281), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jun 10, 2009 Thanks to BrianK for sharing! Pours a nice deep dark black with a good lasting beige head. Aroma is at first spicy phenolic, with earth tones, then toffee, and big malts come through roast, black bitter malts, good chocolate and a nice fruity ester profile as it warms. Chocolate malt, with some oxidized paper hints as it warms, nutty, roast, lightcoffee, and a bitter black dark burnt malt character gets in the way of some of the smoother sweeter malts. Leather toffee and drying earthin the end. THis is an ok to good solid stout. goldtwins (4042), Nesconset, New York, USA May 29, 2009 Big thanks to BrianK. Poured black with a tan head. Roasty malt aroma with sweet chocolate milk. The flavor also had a nice roast to it with some chocolate mixed in. No ash which I am happy to report. Lively CO2. Light to medium body. BrianK (177), Livingston, New Jersey, USA May 26, 2009 Nothing not to like here. Easy drinker. Very smooth. Just how you would expect a straightforward stout to taste. Rciesla (2800), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 25, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black body with a tan head. Creamy coffee and light roast, a bit stale in terms of the coffee character. A bit nutty with caramel accents. Nice brew overall. Bullit (1055), Glasgow, Scotland Oct 17, 2008 Cask @ Bon Accord. Black colour, small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee cream. Smell: Dark malts with notes of creamy milk, chocolate, roast, dark caramel sauce.
Taste: Dark malts with a sweetish blend of caramel, chocolate, and whole milk questionably close to the expiration date. Mild earthy bitterness. Splash of fresh coffee. Lightly sweet, chocolatey finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
