CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 25, 2008 Bottle thanks to timmcd64: Pours a mostly opaque with dark mahogany edges. Aroma of toasted dark caramel malts with some bready doughy character and milk chocolate. Body starts with a decent dark caramel malty sweetness and a good balance of roasty chocolate and raisins with a touch of bready yeast. Finishes drier, toasty and bittersweet. A nice stout. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA May 12, 2008 Draft @ Humpy’s - A pretty solid stout, just smooth and creamy with some rich roastiness, and a touch of licorice and molasses. Nicely done without being overpowering. shp555 (1680), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 6, 2007 Updated: May 25, 2008Pours an dark brown color with a brown head. Aroma is molasses, roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, and some earthyness. Flavor is malty, caramel, molasses, chocolate, and a bitter roasty finish. AmazonMatt (284), Panama Mar 20, 2007 Long lasting cake batter colored head, and nicely opaque with a lighter edge. Very little aroma, probably the biggest fault. Nose was of coffee and a bit of caramel. It was very sweet with flavors of coffee liquor. I liked the mouthfeel...was milky. Smooth, sweet, quiet finish. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA Jan 28, 2007 Courtesy of Puzzl. Thanks, Andy. The aroma is slightly soapy, but that subsides somewhat and dark malt and chocolate come though. Overall though the aroma lack intesnity and doesn’t exactly have me pining for the first sip.

The bosy is a deep black with maybe some very light notes of darl brown if you let the beer play in the light. The head diminishes rapidly from its original thumb thickness, but never fades all together and it a very nice dark mocha color and a desirable creamy consitency.

Fore is a bit watery and again a little detergent-y. Coffee and dark chocolate along with roasted malt and a decent burnt bitterness play from the middle to finish. There are also some light cream notes and a bit of stale of milk. Has some plusses, but has an equal tally of minuses. iamsancho16 (99), USA Nov 17, 2006 This is simply one of the best beers produced in the state of Alaska. Alaska produces some extremely delicious beers, so that is no small compliment. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Oct 18, 2006 22 oz. bottle (3/06 bottled date) - My mother-in-law brought this back from Alaska. Pours a deep dark brown color with a good size tan head. Nice spotty lacing. Has a light roasted malt aroma. Has a semi-sweet chocolate flavor with a hint of vanilla. Medium body. A very nice stout. Way underrated. Thanks Ma V. footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jun 29, 2006 Bottle from Sprinkle. A very unimpressive offering from this Brewery. Thin on the palate and a flavor that you might expect from Coors offering.
