COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chaotic yet hypnotic, Mayhem is a deliberate Double IPA, brewed and conditioned with a special Belgian yeast that contributes complexity and spice. Abundant American hops offer grapefruit, pine, must and mint, which play off the fullness and sweetness of pale malts then provide a biting yet enticing finish.

Mayhem Double IPA accents the complex spice combinations found in Thai, Indian, Cajun, Morrocan, Mexican and Southwest American cuisines as well as BBQ marinades, dry rubs and sauces.

Mayhem creates Mayhem.

22 oz bottle courtesy of UncleJedi from TBS Secret Santa - thanks! Pours a cloudy golden-yellow with a frothy white head that clings to the glass. Smell has a piney, citrus fruity smell to it. Almost a little bit of lavender in the taste as well. Some spice, but not overpowering.

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of lemons, hops, and straw, as well as lighter notes of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, lemons, and hay, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

22 oz. bottle from wavers1. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a medium plus sized white head. The aroma has moderately sweet pale malts with an abundance of citrus and pine hops. There are additional notes of spices with a Belgian flair. The flavor is a battle between the malt and hops, with the hops winning in the end. Resiny and citrus hops throughout with some balancing bready and pale malt. Again, mild spice note with a hint of earthy bitterness. A solid drinkable beer from the land of the Midnight Sun.

savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Fresh 22 oz bottle. Hazy amber/orange with a long lasting, dense white head. Aroma of pine, cat pee, grapefruit and a spicy Belgian yeast scent. Flavor is a pretty nice balance of bitter hops, caramel malt and tart, earthy yeast with the bitterness lingering towards the end. Medium body with average carbonation and a fairly dry mouth feel. Nice hybrid beer the hops and yeast characters blend pretty well together but gets a bit much after a full glass.

Bottle from Grape Expectations, Anchorage. Translucent medium orange body, thick puffy off-white head. Nose of orange blossoms, tropical fruits (especially pineapple) and bright, floral hops. Sticky, resinous hoppy body dominated by pineapple and papaya notes. Oily with bitter fruitskin and sharp, warming alcohol notes that are a bit rough.
