Commercial Description:
The days are long but the season is short. So what gives? Sleep! After doing more before midnight than most Outsiders do in a week, Alaskans deserve some down time. And these moments of relaxation demand more than that ordinary, non-distinct lawn mower beer. Celebrate a day well done with a beer done well—a seriously delicious IPA with some scorchin’ hops. Our new seasonal double IPA is designed to keep you incredibly hopped up spring through summer. Are you ready for a MELTDOWN?

Golden straw in color. Tightly packed white froth clings beautifully. Scents of resin reside over lesser notes of bright grapefruit, orange pith, peach and honey-drenched pound cake. Very soft and inviting to the nose. Seemingly weightless tiny-bubbled carbonation glides over the palate with a fluffy texture. First sip yields a captivating blend of succulent citrus and lime-peel and poignant pine spice. Immensely flavorsome right from the outset. Pale malt cleanly boasts a feathery lightness and dainty crackery sweetness which provides sufficient support while not overshadowing the hop-derived complexities. Immaculate attenuation also aids in a clean hop delivery to the palate. Crisp hint of minerals and a smidge of pure cane sugar delay the resinous onset. Soft flowery nuances manage to overcome the oily resins which thrash about the palate. Finishes wonderfully soft and composed, yet with a peppery lashing and a honeyish, resin and stewed peach sweetness which underscores the stinging grass, citric-rind-, and pinewood-edged bitterness. It’s not often you’ll find a Double IPA (or IPA for that matter) this aggressive yet clean AND flavorsome, as well as cleanly aromatic (malt complements rather than competes, and the hop aromas are fresh smelling). Tone down the resins slightly and this would be awe-inspiring. Impressive.

On tap at the brewery. Incredibly smooth and drinkable. The hops and alcohol are well balanced. If you like IPA’s then you’ll like it.

On tap July 11 at the brewery and from a bomber at home July 19. I loved loved loved this DIPA! Poured a nice hazy gold, with very strong citrus initially, with bitter middle and finish. Remarkably easy to drink, in fact I could drink this by the gallon, but I would surely wake up with a headache!

Poured a slightly hazed golden orange color with a small white head. The aroma was a mix of citrus hops and cracker and caramel malt. The flavor had a good bit more hops than the aroma. A fair amount of citrus flesh that becomes citrus rind that closes with a very long moderate-strong bitterness. Light-medium body with a semi-dry finish.

Pours a golden hazy body. Had to chug quite a bit of this after losing (winning) a bet. Very easy drinking ipa, good citrus and pine blend. Not overly hooped or copper tasting. A nice etoh warming well masked by the hops. Very good for a DIPA.
