argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Dec 14, 2007 (22oz bottle, thanks kmweaver) Small beige head atop lightly hazed amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, orange/floral, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit/orange. Sharp bitterness, very one-dimensional. Medium-full body, some acidity. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 29, 2007 22oz bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis. 2007 ediiton. Poured a medium and clear amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, pines / floral hoppiness, spicey, and oranges. Tastes of citrus, grapefruit, and pine. Nice heavy bitter finish. I would have wanted a better balance for an IIPA, but overall a nicely hoppy beer. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jan 10, 2008 Bottle… O-Town Christmas Gathering ‘07… Mostly clear golden ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Good retention. The nose is composed of both pink and yellow grapefruit and cotton candy. Full-bodied with a biting mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Violently bitter flavor up front with tons of fresh, lucid, citric hops. Followed by and blended nicely with topical and fuzzy fruit sweetness. Lengthy, bittersweet and then drying finish. Thanks to kmweaver for supplying this beer! bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Nov 16, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a creamy white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of pineapple, peaches, grapefruit, and some floral. Flavor of citrus/pine hoppiness and caramel malt with a bitter finish. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 15, 2007 Clear orange bronze with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity hops with some light crystal malty sweetness. Body starts semi-sweet and caramely with some earthy grapefruity bittering hops toward a drier, bittersweet and slightly warming finish. A pretty good IIPA. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Feb 17, 2008 22oz bottle @Mels YEHA-pours an off white head and yellow/gold color. Aroma is nice sweet citrus. Taste is nice sweet citrus/pine-hops, secondary medium malt. mj (4973), Colorado, USA Nov 23, 2007 22oz bottle. Huge fruity dank nose full of the Cascade and Amarillo up front with some lemon and grapefruit notes, and some lighter notes of pine from the Simcoe, I imagine. Regardless of what hops are doing what, the nose on this is a phenomenal mixture of hops. Assertive and sticky, the bitterness is quite high, along with an almost citrus acidity, probably from the Chinook, but otherwise it’s down right delicious. Again, it could benefit from less assertive bitterness and more juiciness like in the nose, but it’s a solid double IPA, and probably one of the best smelling beers I’ve had in a while.
