jsquire (2087), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Dec 10, 2008 Hazy amber beer with a foamy thin yellowish head. Lots of hops in the nose dominated by candied grapefruit rinds and warming alcohol. Nice, velvety mouthfeel. Flavors of grapefruit rind, apple sauce and some pineapple. Nice balanced finish for a very nice IIPA. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Nov 21, 2008 Thanks Jason. The beer pours to a murky amber body with a thin white head. The aroma is tons of pine and grapefruit. Nice flaked barley. The flavor is bitter grapefruit and pine with nice barley. Some grassy hops too. Bitter palate is very dense and medium full bodied. Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Nov 1, 2008 Bomber. Poured medium-dark orange with a creamy cap of off-white head. The aroma was really, really juicy with floral, pine, and perfumey notes over pale malts and nice caramelization.. great balance throughout. The flavor also had a nice balance between the juicy hops and the rich base.. caramelly notes and pale malts at the core with pine, grapefruit, and floral bitterness around.. memorable finish with more of the bitterness. Medium-bodied and bitter on the palate with just enough support.. really, really good stuff! miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Oct 28, 2008 Bonus bomber from hannot. Thanks Todd! Pour is copper with a nice fluffy head. Aroma is biting hops eith big malt backing. Good lacing. Flavor is initially bitter, transitioning into malt sweetness. Big, lasting finish. Smooth and creamy. good drinker. mreusch (715), Olathe, Kansas, USA Oct 25, 2008 22oz. bomber, with a big thanks to bitbucket! Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a large chunky foamy tan head, excellent lacing and retention. Aroma is dominated by pine, resin and citrus, with lighter notes of caramel, floral and honey. Flavor is more pine, resin, floral, citrus and only the slightest caramel note to keep just the right balance, while the pine and floral seems to linger longer than everything else. Wow, I know this has a bit of age on it, so wasn’t expecting it to be as impressive as it was. Hop forward, but still nicely balanced - yum! Thanks again Bob! gator2683 (133), Anchorage, Alaska, USA Oct 11, 2008 dark amber color with a piney citruisy aroma. initially sweet malt with a couple different hop flavors dominating Taverner (826), San Ramon, California, USA Oct 1, 2008 Bomber thanks to AgentSteve. Almost a smoky, peat like flavor. Full of floral, piney resinous hops. Like drinking a pine cone - yum :) Nice caramel malt undertones. Excellent lacing. scrizzz (1252), kirkland, Washington, USA Sep 23, 2008 Oily pine and orange aroma, resiny, sap. Orange haze, average head. Salty air up front, mangos and tropical qualities to the hops, a bit old and aged, not as bright as I’m sure it once was. Dry earthy finish.
