22 oz. bottle - pours clear and amber; foamy white head takes a few minutes to fade to the edges; lots of lacing; not to overwhelming hop bomb that was obliteration II, but a much more enjoyable mix of sweet hops and sugary malts; finish is still bitter, but lots of balance; smooth, creamy body

22oz bottle. thanks to tim for this one.....amber reddish brown accompanied by a milky white head..... aroma of biscuity malt, really fruity with grapefruit and pineapple hoppy goodness.... flavors incorporated more of the fruity hops with a fair amount of sweet caramel to balance out the act. finish was dry and left a bit of bitterness on the palatte. pretty nice.

Draft @ Humpy’s - Tasted side by side with OB II. This was much better, cleaner and crisper on the palate, no where near balanced because of all the damn hops, but it does have a malt backbone that tries to keep up but is not rugged enough. Still this is what most hop heads look for in a beer, but I would like a little more balanced.

Didn’t get to try either of the first 2 of these, but happy to sample this one. Nice golden-amber color with a floral/sweet nose that I found very appealing. Flavor has some nice piney/floral/citrus mix that is tasty but not quite a knockout. A damn good DIPA packed with sticky, hoppy goodness.

22oz bottle. fresh sample. thanks to pantanap for sharing. pours glowing amber with white head. nose is piney grapefruit. flavors is very piney, spruce, dry grapefruit, wow this is really dry and bitter. hops cleanse the palate clean. some caramel comes out as it warms but this one of dry imperial ipa. finally seeing the 7.6&abv doesn’t surprise me. i thought this was more of a really hopped ipa than a double. very good though.

Clear golden amber. Honeycomb resin. Glowing pale malt aroma with soft floral undertones. Honey and fresh baked sourdough, calming lemongrass and chamomile and lavender; centennial seems most dominant and forthright, being beautifully redolent of apricot orchards and wildflower meadows, and coalescing smoothly with that polished, reserved malt presence. Spritzy pine. Citrus peels. Caramel brownies. Slightly balanced, and gorgeous. Flavor is all dank bitterness and perfumey, floral hop oil. Some white tea leaf sweetness is more apparent than here and there notes of candied almonds and alcoholic citrus. Vibrancy of fruit flavor seems dulled down a bit. Apricot seems papery, grapefruit a mite slick. Ultimately, that cavelike wet pine character just rings with a searing, yet calm, brilliance; resonant and cool. Palate is a relaxed bittersweetness; oily, gently carbonated, firm. Finishes with a lengthy green bitterness, again warmed with a touch of malty sweetness. A really loveable, careful example that evasively combines a powerful bitterness with refreshing dryness over any cloying texture, and with polished simplicity over size. Awesome; another example of killer craft from this seemingly meticulous brewery.

This one pours hazy amber or a dark golden color. I can’t really decide on that aspect. You get at least 3 fingers worth of head with each pour. Taking the glass I first noticed the aroma. Wow, what a great smell. This is made with 5 different hops (Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe, Amarillo and Crystal) and you can really smell them fighting to be the dominant one. Taking a whiff and I immediately feel like I am out there in woods enjoy nature. The taste doesn’t let you down at all. What you smell is what you get. Those delicious hops are all there for your enjoyment. The after taste leaves a hint of malt but not enough to really diminish a hop head’s dream. It is a good slow drink one. Definitely another great find from Alaska.

Bomber poured a clear copper with a lasting light amber head leaving good lace as I drink it. Aromas of pine, orange, carmel, tangerine and light earthiness.Palate was mediuym bodied and smooth with a lightly dry finish. Flavors of pine, carmel, pink grapefruit and tangerines with a smooth slightly dry lingering bitter finish.
