edmedina (19), Chesterfield, Virginia, USA Apr 30, 2008 This one pours hazy amber or a dark golden color. I can’t really decide on that aspect. You get at least 3 fingers worth of head with each pour. Taking the glass I first noticed the aroma. Wow, what a great smell. This is made with 5 different hops (Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe, Amarillo and Crystal) and you can really smell them fighting to be the dominant one. Taking a whiff and I immediately feel like I am out there in woods enjoy nature. The taste doesn’t let you down at all. What you smell is what you get. Those delicious hops are all there for your enjoyment. The after taste leaves a hint of malt but not enough to really diminish a hop head’s dream. It is a good slow drink one. Definitely another great find from Alaska. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA May 27, 2008 NUMBER 400, May 24, 2008. Bomber shared with my good beer buddies, DrBayern and doboy (hey Matt and Ed, that was great fun dudes!). Pours a deep amber/orange forming an off white foamy head. Aroma was pine resins, hops, wet forrest grass. Flavour was of huge hopped malts, clean caramel grapefruit. Leaves lovely lacing with each sip, bitterness is the icing on the cake, easily drinkable. Rather sticky mouth feel that begs for more. Kick ass beer! TomDecapolis (3130), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA May 29, 2008 Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a large frothy/rocky off white head that left tons of lacing. Aroma of a load of American hops, caramel, orange, light pine and floral notes. Flavor of even more American hops...pine, orange, floral other citrus. Nice caramel and lightly toasted malt to balance. Some earthy notes. Midnight Sun does it again with another great hoppy beer. hopdog (5534), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 30, 2008 22oz bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis. Poured a medium amber color with a larger sized off white head. Wow, nice hop aromas of pine, citrus, and floral green hops. Tastes of pine, caramel, citrus, and floral. Hop lovers like me should enjoy this one! riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA May 30, 2008 Bomber from hopdog. Thanks dude! Pours cloudy orange brown with a nice bubbly head. Aromas are strongly hopped with notes of pine, grapefruit, cat piss, and floral notes. Some pale malt too. Bitterness up front with lots of pine, grapefruit, and perfume followed by a light sweet caramel and pale malts, finishes with more pine, perfume, grapefruit, pepper, and cat. Dry, resiny, lingering bitter/spicy pepper. Medium carbonation renders this one insanely drinkable. I like that the brewers toned down the gravity but didn’t skimp on the hops making a great big bitter IIPA that is not sweet at all, has a nice light maltiness, and is insanely drinkable. Call me crazy, but a little similar to Pliny the Elder? Would love to try them side to side. This beer reminds me why I love IIPA’s. JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA May 10, 2008 Didn’t get to try either of the first 2 of these, but happy to sample this one. Nice golden-amber color with a floral/sweet nose that I found very appealing. Flavor has some nice piney/floral/citrus mix that is tasty but not quite a knockout. A damn good DIPA packed with sticky, hoppy goodness. daknole (2810), Plantation, Florida, USA Mar 17, 2009 Bottle. Amber pour. Aroma is tropical fruits, grapefruit and malt. Flavor is hoppy and malty and has some great tropical fruits. This is a fine, fine beverage! ogglethorp (882), Ohio, USA May 21, 2008 Bottle via trade with TomDecapolis, thanks Tom! Pours an amber color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is massive citrus and floral hops exclusively. Flavor is huge citrus again, grass, pine. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finished with a biting bitterness leaving the tongue numb. Great stuff!
