22. Thanks, SuzyGreenberg! Pours a hazy dark orangeish amber. Dense but shallow off-white head. Huge tropical fruit nose: grapefruit, pineapple, mango. Creamy medium body. Piney, grapefruity, toasty mid-palate with a big resiny finish. These huge hops combine with the dense, somewhat mild but still perceptible brown-bread wheat notes so well. It’s just a natural match. Great beer.

Have been really looking forward to it as I’m a hop head with a soft spot for wheat beers. This was bottles in the 3rd week of November so it has about 3.5 months on it. 22 oz bottle poured into my snifter.
A- Perfect, IMO, for what a hoppy wheat should look like. Body is a translucent rusty amber hue that pours with a 2-3 finger foamy white head. Head eventually fades to 1/2 finger and has perfect retention from there. Lacing and film is left all the way down the glass. Cloudiness is very thick and between uniform and dynamic. Bubbles can be sen rising to the top (when held up to the light) and some cloudiness can be seen moving about the brew.
S- The nose is hoppy and very sweet (maybe a little too sweet). Lots of grapefruit and citrus come through first but there is also a big sweet bready yeast in the background. The smell ends with a slight presence of phenols and big almost sugary sweetness added to the mix.
T- The flavor upfront is somewhat mild and consists of a mild herbal and citrus hop presence with a big bready yeast backbone. The finish is mostly hop flavors with a smooth grapefruit and slightly aggressive hop bitterness emerging as well as a big bready sweetness. What is left to linger is a medium strength resiny hop bitterness and the impression of sweet bready yeast.
P- Medium carbonation and medium weight body. Goes down easier but could be a lot smoother (as I am being picky). Could be more oily or more bready in order to do so. The hops add more of a crass, abruptness to the mouthfeel rather than oils.
O- This is an awesome beer and I am glad to have tried it. This is my 4th IPA/wheat beer combo and it measures up just as well as the others. The ABV is virtually unnoticeable (though not super high) and that makes this beer all the more sneaky...because it appears sessionable. A great beer that may have been brighter when completely fresh...and I wish I lived in AK so that I could have experienced this. Still a great beer over all and something that I wish was a lot more easily accessible.

Pours a light amber with medium head. Slightly sweet malt with lots of citrus/pine/weed hop flavor and lasting bitterness. This creamy texture is not typical for an IPA of this depth, but I’m a fan. The bitterness isn’t so overwhelming that it truly obliterates your taste buds, but there is tons of hop flavor going on. Very minimal sweetness is not resinous; right up my alley. Overall, this comes across as an easy drinking double IPA with a creamy body and great hop flavor. What’s not to like?

Poured a hazed orange amber color with a large off-white head. Big citrus forward hop aroma. Pretty much covers all of the malt. Citrus flavor with a hop bitterness that starts first thing and last long after everything else is gone. Sweet citrus juice appears shortly in the middle. Long moderately bitter dry finish. Medium bodied. A little warming in the chest.

bottle at Fort Wayne tasting - Pours lightly hazy gold with a small off-white head. It has a big citrus hop aroma with a little malt in the background. The flavor is massive citrus hops, especially grapefruit, and of course as expected for the style it’s very bitter. The wheat malt is definitely there though and makes for an interesting combination. It all works pretty well.

Pours gold into the glass with a slight haze and a small white head. Aroma is somewhat grassy with a bit of citrus and some malt sweetness. Flavor is really nice with the wheat lending a slightly bubble gum like flavor to the citrus and piney hops. Really like seeing wheat used in a different way. A+ for expirimentation!
