4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber. Clear copper color, excellent foam and lacing - like a beer commercial. Interesting aroma. Blend of citrus and dank hops gives it a woodsy feel. The rye malt is forward in the mouth but quickly balanced by resinous bitterness. An excellent rye DIPA overall.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. In all fairness, this rating should be tempered by the fact that this bottle has been sitting in my basement a good long while. Pours clear dark gold with a dense, lacy off-white head. Sweet aoma of grapes, mango, toffee. Body on the light side for a DIPA. Taste of toffee, citrus, not particularly bitter. More like an American Barleywine than a DIPA.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Aroma is bold with hops and has traces of grapefruit and sweet onion but for some reason I am having a hard time picking up much else. The drink is intensely bitter and suggests that this beer went overload on hops while only making small room open for the sweet malts to help add some structure to this Imperial IPA. This just doesn’t seem balanced enough with the bitterness and sweetness and in my opinion is a gloopy malt and hop mess.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle:   Golden side of amber, a little dark, moderate frothy off-white head, nice lacing. Dank cheesy aroma.   This is an odd duck. Spicey hop flavor, but not all that bitter.   Seems like a an IPA given its not
super malty nor super hoppy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Musty and minor old cheese on the finish.   This is not like Midnight Sun at all.   Usually these releases are uber hoppy.   This was just... Out

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly hazy copper coloured body with a bit of a bronze glow and a nice, two centimetre tall creamy tan head. Aroma of bright fresh grapefruity, piney and resinous hops with a bunch of alcohol and some lighter apricot and fruit sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong biting pine and grapefruity hop flavours with a ton of sweetness from honey and fruit with a very nice malt backbone and a little alcohol bite on the end. Aftertaste shows a ton of two things - hops and fruit sugars, but the both work very well. Overall, a very nice Imperial IPA with a good dose of hops, plentiful, but not overpowering sweetness and a good body without being way too strong and pungent. Definitely worth trying if you can find this! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Brown Jug (Old Seward) in Anchorage, Alaska on 26-May-2013 for US$8.99 sampled at home in Washington on 21-July-2013.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Regretting it now that I paid almost $10 for this at Home Brew Stuff in Garden City ... I knew it would be a wild card, but this is pretty terrible (especially given the $$$)
Dark golden brew with a nice head and retention.
The nose is watered down malt extract and some background pineapple hoppiness... but it smells pretty bad given the promise on the label.
Flavor shows heavy muddy pale malts and light fruity hops and lite spicy hoppiness.
Body is too heavy for the carbonation and any remnants of good flavor on the palate.
I am super pissed I spent the dough on this bottle... Shelves that are WAAAYYY too hot for the bottles sitting there, this is an abomination for something that is supposed to be a DIPA.
