22oz bottle (thanks for sending this to me Alex!). Poured a medium and hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, pine, toast, citrus, and I swear I was getting some woodiness. Tastes of caramel, floral hops, citrus, and toast.

This one poured a bright orange color with a big off white head. Aroma was very piney hops, dank and some sweetness from the loads of malt as well. Flavor was bright hoppy bitterness, piney and citrus, balancing the very sweet malt character. Good beer but could be a little less sweet and cloying.

Appearance: Pours up a brilliant, deep orange-hued body with a medium-sized, whitish head. Smell: Fresh, fruity tangerine hop scents as well as some richly perfumy florals and hints of just-picked herbs above the base of sweetish pale malts. Taste: Carefully crisped pale malts along with some crystal malt light caramel candy sweetness. Juicy, pith citrus fruit - mostly tangerine - and bold floral, herbal hop flavors with a resounding, moderate amount of bitterness. Slightly warming, definitely bitter finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Drinkability: It’s good! All the hoppiness and bitterness you would expect of the Obliteration series from Midnight Sun.

22oz bottle. Pours a lightly hazed peach color with a fluffy off white head, great lacing left on the tulip. A good amount of citrus and pine on the nose with a good caramel backbone. Flavor was a little biscuity with lots of orange and lemon peel. On the back end of the palate there was a heavy dose of hop bitterness with some added spice.

Nose is floral with fruity notes of peach and citrus. A hint of pepper and also some toast, dough, and earthy aromas. Pours a wonderful bright amber, filtered. Great lace and a short foamy white head. Juicy fruit notes - peach and grapefruit with underlying floral hops. Malt base is toasty and lightly sweet. Nice hoppy burps. Medium resin. lingering acidic hop feeling on the palate. A touch of alcohol warmth comes through as well.

22 oz. bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt with fresh citrus fruit and pineapple notes. There is also a decent floral component to the nose. The flavor has a base of caramel malt, but is definitely crawling with hop goodness. Grapefruit, orange, pine and floral notes abound with a strong bitterness mid palate to the finish. There is just enough caramel/toffee presence to create a very drinkable DIPA. Medium-full bodied; the alcohol creates a warming feeling. Another very solid offering from MS. Rating #54 for this beer.

Juicy orange citrus aroma. Dark sunset amber. Dense malt body with a hint of caramel and a drop of blood orange. Concentrated sticky resiny hop brightness, intense with a hint of a metallic twang on the finish. Love this series.

Another MSBC beer courtesy of savnac, poured into a tulip. Pours a clear amber with a small creamy white head that has no intention of receding at all and leaves some delicate lacing on the way down. The aroma is just chock full of pungent citrus hops with grapefruit coming to the forefront. I get some pine as well, but it doesn’t penetrate the grapefruit much. Neither does the malts, though they’re clearly there. The taste is very bitter up front and I’m not sure if I can attribute it to citrus or pine...it’s just bitter. The bitterness takes on more of a resinous character in the finish and sticks around stubbornly in the aftertaste. The malts, again, are present but serve to just barely balance the hops. The mouthfeel is definitely bitter and sticky with hop juice, supported by a solid, soft carbonation. This is the first Obliteration I’ve had fresh and, as such, the hoppiest version I’ve had. The hops are dominant from start to finish with a big West Coast bitterness lingering after each sip. In short, tasty as hell.

Bottle. Aroma at first lots of pine and citrus but quickly these turn to brown sugar, toffee, molasses, very desert-like. Flavor follows this sweet, decadent route, though all the hops seem to also dry it out, leaving it quite the treat though unusual for a DIPA.

Bottle thanks to AmEricanbrew. Pours a nice light amber with white fizzy head. Aroma of nice light caramel, citrus hops, and some light pine. Flavor is exactly the same. Mouth feel is medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, tasty and has some character.
