3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 SDalkoholic (1812) - Chula Vista, California, USA - OCT 21, 2012
Bottle from Best Damn Beer Shop: Created a violent foam head that eventually retreated while a golden blonde liquid rested below. The nose is mild with an obvious hop aroma but instead of being sharp and vibrant it was more tame and only suggested a minor spicy smell and a minimum scent of citrus or pine. The drink is strong with alcohol that reminds me of vodka or gin and has a minor fruity flavor that tastes of pine and juniper berries.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Glouglouburp (5607) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 28, 2012
In short: A big blond IPA with sweet canned fruits flavor. Meh
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed 3 months after the beer release. Bottle sent to me by mcberko, thanks Matt
The look: Partly cloudy blond-orange body topped by a medium white with medium retention
In long: Nose is fruity hops but not fresh fruity, it is more like the aroma I get when I open a can of fruits (canned peaches, canned pineapples, canned pears). Taste is more of the same. A neutral bready pale malt backbone with a lot of sweet fruity flavors. This beer taste like a crust-less slice of white bread soaked with the juice of canned fruits. There is also some alcohol warmth and a slight resinous bitterness. So I’m reading here that this beer is brewed with hops extract, I’m surprised, I’m usually good at noticing when something is fake, I can almost always tell when a movie uses CGI instead of real dinosaurs.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jgb9348 (4025) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Hazy copper coloured body with a nice orange glow and a thickish, two centimetre tall tan head that leaves a fairly nice lace. Aroma of pungent, grapefruity and piney hops with a very apricot and fruity finish and a good strong dose of malt is very noticeable with a hint of alcohol. Full-bodied; Deep resiny, piney hop cone flavour with a lot of alcohol notes, some full-bodied sweetness and a good complexity that shows off very well for the style. Aftertaste is quite strong with a good balance of alcohol, sweetness, maltiness and a ton of hops, but all kept in check by the complexities around. Overall, a very nice Imperial IPA that tastes like it has more alcohol than ’just’ 8.5%, but a good beer with a good complexity while still showing off the hops and malt. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Olive Tree Market Place in San Diego, California on 05-May-2012 for US$13.99 sampled at home in Washington on 08-July-2012.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 5000 (5000) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JUN 10, 2012
Bottle:   Hazy golden, orange hued, moderate to large frothy white head, nice lacing.   Soft fruity and citrusy hop nose.   Sweet citrus rind like flavors up front.   Has a stale aspect to it that detracts a bit.   While being flavorful and aromatic, its not very bright or fresh.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   This is not uber hoppy, nor uber malty.   Finishes with a pithy astringency that lingers well after the finish.   The 8.5% is well hidden, but overall it isn’t a fresh or bright example.   Enjoyable regardless.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 nickd717 (3396) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 8, 2012
Draft. Slightly hazy orange-copper with a sticky whitish head. Citrusy aroma with a dank note to it and a bit of butterscotch. The flavor is good but has a few things weird about it. Caramel, grains, blood orange, and dank with a metallic finish. Medium-plus body with a good carbonation level. Could stand to improve, but not bad.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 SHIG (3103) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUN 5, 2012
Bottle: Poured a copper orange with plenty of carbonated bubbles that form a off white cream head. Aroma is citrus fruit and faint hops. Taste is light hops with a butterscotch and fruit sweetness. Think this is getting past its best by date.
