COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oosik Amber Ale is a true German-style altbier, brewed with pale, Munich and crystal malts. Deep amber with copper highlights, Oosik sports a toasted and caramel malt profile, balanced by traditional noble hops. A special yeast strain ferments this ale at cooler lager temperatures, giving it a smooth malt character and a clean finish.

Want to hang—so to speak—for a while? Oosik Amber Ale gives you hang time. Great flavor, big mouthfeel, satisfying finish…all in a session-worthy beer. Compare it to other ambers—Oosik rules. Look for our 20-inch Oosik tap in better beer bars throughout AK.

You can’t just have a little Oosik.

[Tap] At Humpy’s in mid-September. Pours an average amber color with a quickly receding head. Aroma of caramel malts, hazelnut, mild vanilla and grass. Toasted malts, biscuits, sticky caramel and light brown sugar in the taste. Roasted nutty notes are also evident. The mouthfeel is well above average for the style, which is a pleasant surprise. Good stuff.

On tap @ brewery. Translucent amber with off white foamy head. Nutty aroma layered over caramel malt base. Flavor is very reminiscent of a hearty Oktoberfest Marzen with walnuts and pecans added for good measure. A strong contender for best amber in Alaska.

Sampled at Repeal of Prohibition fest 2011 - Pours clear amber with an off-white head. The aroma is toasty and nutty. Medium / light body that is crisp and has moderate carbonation. The taste is pretty light and has the traits of the aroma along with a bit of minerals. Okay amber ale.

Tasted 4/16/11. Schlafly’s Repeal of Prohibition festival. Pours filtered with an amber hue. Trace bubbled head. Aromas of tangy fruity hops and toasted malts. Medium bodied with a solid malt bill and subtle hints of fruit. A good body with a dry finish. Sticky and piney hops with a good dose of bitterness. Solidly produced!

phaleslu (3544) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 18, 2011
Draft sample at the Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition Festival. Midnight Sun mistakenly brought this and the Ale Slayer instead of the Kodiak Brown Ale and Fallen Angel Golden Ale. Pours a clear, rich amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, toast, grass, grains, and a bit of mixed fruits. Flavor is almost exactly the same, really smooth and malty with some underlying fruitiness. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty, juicy mouthfeel. Drinks so smooth and easy; well above average amber ale.
