hopdog (4526), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 2, 2008 22oz bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis. Poured a deeper reddish/brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of toasted grains, light spices, some raisins, and nutty. Tastes of light spices, toffee, grass, and raisins.
BrewCzar (51), St Louis, Missouri, USA Aug 2, 2008 Pours dark copper/orange with an off white lacing head. Aroma is slightly citrus with a strong hop presence and an off petroleum/plastic smell. Tastes starts sweet with hints of citrus, raisins, roasted malts. Finishes with a bitter floral hops taste and weird plastic-like flavor.. JoeMcPhee (3682), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 5, 2008 Deep orange-brown beer, herbal sweet aroma. Some light orange peel over an earthy sticky sweetness. Light brown sugar. Biscuity, cookie dough sort of sweetness with a fairly sweet and chewy body. The sweetness gets pretty cloying and I’m glad I don’t have to drink much more of it. puzzl (1715), New York, New York, USA Jun 8, 2008 Bottle from my sis. Dark and roasty, full, earthy, with bitter chocolate and tobacco. Some nice burnt notes in there. Balanced and tasty, mildly fruit. I get a lot of complexity out of this beer, with the burnt flavors making this especially exciting. Would be great with some sausages from the barbeque. SuzyGreenberg (900), Seattle, Washington, USA May 30, 2008 22 oz. bottle - pours clear, reddish brown with off-white head; aromas mainly malts and sugar and on the mild side; thin body and drinks dry with slight bitterness; flavors on the thin side and of a soapy malty variety; some caramel and slight fruit touch; not mind blowing, but something i could drink more of unclemattie (1557), Georgia, USA May 10, 2008 Vintage 2008. 35 IBUs, 22oz bottle. Pours a deep reddish-brown color. Aroma of cola. Flavor has a touch of toffee, caramel. Not good, One word... astringent. A little too much English in this one. Did not care for this one at all. Not the best of Alaska.
