Clear dark amber color with ivory sheen. Floral, dry wood, caramel, pine aromas. medium bodied. Malty sweet caramel flavors with dry wood, floral, and pine. Smoother than the unoaked Sockeye--good

On tap at the brewpub. Deep amber color with a thin big bubbled head. Grapefruit hop nose. The only oak I get from this beer is when it warms. This has the fresh grapefruit rind and big candied orange peel that I get from the regular sockeye. I don’t think that IPAs are enhanced much by barrel aging, and while the source beer is great I don’t think the oak added anything.

On tap @ MSBC. Clearish amber/red with a small beige head. Aroma is citrus, pine, caramel, vanilla and a hint of onion/garlic. Flavor is bitter hops, sweet caramel and a light boozy vanilla from the oak. Medium body with average carbonation and a sticky mouth feel. This is a nice Sockeye variant, the oak is very subtle and adds just a bit of vanilla and booze.

Draft at the source. Murky reddish brown color, small bright white head. Aroma of grass, fruit, vanilla. Taste is citrus, vanilla, caramel. Nice
