axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 24, 2005 Notes from fall ipa tasting. Amber colored body with huge head. Kind of a sweet lemonade aroma. Flavor is citrus, hops and nuts. Medium bodied. kane (111), USA Jan 13, 2005 Big fluffy head. Dark ruby amber color. Big aroma of centenial hops. The head remains throughout. Powerful, dry taste, lingering hop aftertaste. Unique, memorable and not for the faint of heart. Big and bold like the state it is from. For $3.95 a bomber at Downtown liquors in Boston this is a great buy. frylock (998), Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 25, 2004 Coppery red color with a massive white head. Light caramel in the aroma, lots of hops some vegetal notes, and a little citrus. Light malty sweetness, good balance. Citrusy hops, with a light spice in the finish. Enjoyable. Marc (477), Yokosuka, Japan Nov 1, 2004 Herbal hoppy nose wit ha little grain and dates. Beautiful deep red with a fuffy biege head that left lots of laceing. Nice soft mouthfeel brings tons of herbal hoppieness and a pleasent bitterness. Grain, brown sugar, dates, and a touch of raisons and carmel. DYCSoccer17 (2187), Davis, California, USA Oct 24, 2004 Vinous, sweet, fruity aroma. Similar to a barleywine actually. Almost sugary and candylike aromas. Amber/reddish copper color with a huge frothy light tan head. A pretty beer, although it does not look like an IPA. Very bitter to start, and it stays quite bitter and extremely dry. There are nots of some roasted malts with chocolate hints in the middle. I am not a fan of beers that are this dry. Hopgeek (101), San Diego, California, USA Oct 7, 2004 Redish amber color and makes an excessive ammount of head. Aroma is a blend of citrus fruity cascade hops and a bit of malt. Flavor is bitter but not overly complex, light grapefruit esters in the finish, fairly well balanced. Medium mouthfeel with lots of carbonation and a dry finish. Not bad, but nothing special either. kbjames (242), Utah, USA Oct 1, 2004 This is an ok IPA that has a really wonderful aroma to it. But i was disappointed with the attack and the linger on the beer. Didn’t taste near as nice as it smelled. I think this is overrates in my opinion. Not even close to the top shelf IPA’s. BelgianXXX (6), grand rapids, Michigan, USA does not count Sep 27, 2004 aroma has a hoppy bite to it. has a rich-copperish, amber-red color. the flavor fits the aroma a nice hoppy bite. left my mouth feeling like i had been sucking on spruce needles. then i saw the label and my mouth started to taste kind of fishy.
