i was impressed with the hop flavor in this brew. It started of witha fruity aroma, the taste was mainly hops nice bitter dry hops. There where some malty tones to it, but the hops made this beer.

Dark red color, nice frothy head. Fruity nose - cherry taste. Kind of acidic taste, but only shortly and weak.

I was a little dissapointed, as I've heard good things about this brewery. Seemed a little over the hill as the hop aroma had faded from what I thought it should be. Quite malty for an IPA and not overly bitter. I'm sure this would be real tasty when fresh.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Full-on hoppy aroma -- leafy, woody, green, earthy, spicy and flowery with just the barest hint of toasty malt. Dark red-amber color, lightly hazy, with a massive, lasting, rocky off-white head and thick lacing. Flavor profile is almost entirely hoppy: citric, woody and mildly fruity, with a touch of toasted malt and burnt caramel arriving late. Finish is crisp and dry. Moderately high amount of bitterness throughout. Could use a bit more maltiness to balance out, but does feature a nice palette of hop charcteristics.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark copper/bronze coloured body with a large dense tan head. Aroma of floral-fragrant hops with a good balance of malt and little else. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppiness up front of a floral quality, then finishing very clean. Aftertate has some sweetness-but is left very clean and fresh. Overall, a great 'easy-to-drink' IPA, definately worth trying! I bought this 65 cL bottle at Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia and sampled it on 04-January-2004.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2005 2003 bomber. Nice medium dark reddish-amber with some swirling oranges and dark golds. Bottle conditioned, humongous persistent sticky white head. Wonderfully resinous smell, very juicy and floral. Chinooks meld well with the cascades creating a hops aroma that is neither too dominant on spiciness or citrus. Flavor is equally juicy, bursting with hops, huge alpha content, floral, sweet and lightly toasty. Bitterness is high but well-balanced by malt. Very solid offering, nice change of pace back to the traditional American IPA (Ive been getting tired of fuggles lately). Lingering sweet, almost fruity finish and aftertaste. Low acidity, very creamy palate.
2004 bomber Still as good as I remember. Thereís just something about Red IPAs and Double Reds that I really like, oh wait, itís the balance. Imagine that. (I also like cascades and centennials, yes Iím boring).

Deep orange colour. Surprisingly lasting head given the amount of hop oil in this yummy creation. Another great, crazy label from the people at Midnight Sun. Strong hop smell. Sttrong hop taste. Lasting hop aftertaste. A great IPA.

Pours brown, not red. Floral hop smell does not translate into floral hop taste. Not bad, but not great.

Pours an orange amber with a nice head that leaves some lace.
Smells of floral hops and a nice malt presence.
Tastes nice and hoppy, Cascades are the most obvious with some others in there as well. It's offset with the malt but hops are certainly the main taste
Mouthfeel is full and crisp. Drinkability is good as I'll try this one again. I'm looking forward to trying others from this brewery.
