Commercial Description:
Brewed in the bold spirit of Alaska, Sockeye Red IPA is a finely crafted Pacific Northwest-style India Pale Ale with a real bite. Ample pale two-row malt creates a fresh, firm body while specialty malts impart a spawning red hue. The predominant character of this fiesty catch comes from outlandish portions of Centennial, Cascade and Simcoe hops, giving this beer tremendous citrus and floral aroma and flavor. Determined and bitter but amazingly balanced, Sockeye Red is gnarly enough to take you hook, line and sinker. Forget about a bigger rig; grab a bigger glass.

picked this up at some point on our trip to the pacific northwest. bomber. deep clear amber pour with a big frothy off-white head. aroma of caramel and grassy hops. flavor is the lightly sweet caramel malt up front then quickly to the moderate bitter hops all the way through the long finish. K-8

Pours dark red with a big head. A little too soapy and malty to get super high marks, but a valiant effort at a "red" IPA. The cascade taste is just a little too dominant here for me but it’s still pretty solid.

Bottle thanks to GMCC2181. Poured red in color with tan head. Aroma is very strong pine, with floral hops. taste was very hoppy, with malt, citrus, and floral notes. Finished nice, but wouldn’t want it again.

Bottle thanks to sleazy eazy E. Thanks E! Nice aroma of hops.... Red in color followed by a good head. I have never liked "red" ipa’s and this one didnt change my mind. The taste is a nice bitterness but what ever the "red" is in the after taste bothers me. To malty imo...The carbonation level is a little high, but the texture and everything else is good. Just the taste is not to my liking. Thanks again E for sending this one my way.

Pours a dark, clear brownish amber with a rocky off-white head that shows very good retention and lacing. It’s one of the darkest IPAs I’ve ever seen - very nice looking. Aroma is like walking into a pine forest - a massive floral hop smell that you can smell straight out of the bottle. There’s probably a touch of malts in the there but it’s all about the piny hops. Pine hops dominate the taste as well with a tongue-tingling bitterness up front. The taste features a much more prevalent caramel malt backbone than the aroma which balances everything out very well. The hops come back in the finish to provide a pleasantly bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is sticky with the pine hop resin and has strong carbonation that accentuates the bitterness. This is a good IPA, especially if pine hops are your thing.

Pours amber, white head. Aroma very hoppy, fruity. Taste, again, a lot of hoppiness, malty, fruity with some herbal notes. Found it to be just too hoppy, remains a good IPA.

Thanks to bitbucket tasting. Amber with medium head. Solid IPA with big hops and just enough balance. A little bit soapy.

Hazy deep amber with large off white head. Hoppy aroma with caramel notes. Sweet and hoppy flavor with pine and caramel notes. Ends solid bitter.
