[After party @ Papsoe, thanks buddy] Average off-white creamy head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Light cloudy amber color. Aroma of heavy hoppy notes with pine, grapefruit, citrus and apricot as the dominating notes. Very chewy hoppy feel. Also fruity and toasted malty notes can be detected. Over the palate came heavy bitter and strong hoppy notes. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and dry almost oily texture because of the hops. Moderated bitter and sweet flavor in a well balance co-operation. Lingering hoppy and dry floral finish with almost sweet liquorish like underling end. 8 / 3 / 8 / 3 / 15 jrob21 (1257), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Citrus/Grapefruit hop flavors and a bitter hop finish. All I can do is to describe the hop profile. Poured a clear dark orange color. Thanks to MaltOMeal for sending this one on. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 26, 2008 Sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits Wednesday evening beer tasting. Picked up a 22-oz bomber from John’s Marketplace in Portland, Oregon, pours a semi clear dark orange amber brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissipates and follows the beer and retains a small head. Aroma of citrus zest, pineapple and a touch of tangerine fruity character that over-powers any caramel or multi-grain malts. Taste is quite bitter, some light multi-grain malts, piney, grapefruit and a touch of pineapple. Finish is a sharp bitterness that lingers long after the finish. A pretty solid West Coast caliper IPA. presario (2956), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Froth on amber. Sticky lacing. Drinkable and enjoyable. Fruity hop flavour. Strong but easy drinking. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA

Floral hop nose, with a hint of cirtus. Grainy malt background with a little too much carbonation. Not the greatest offering. willblake (2174), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Not up to the standard of the strong beers I’ve had from Midnight Sun, but good enough. Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 26, 2008 From Skyview’s bottle. A tasty, and somewhat above average, West Coast IPA. Brown color and a thin, white head that leaves a lace. Abundant floral, flowery hops in the aroma. Flavor is bitter, and a combination of herbal hops, and sweet malt. Medium palate. This is the sort of IPA you keep in the fridge all the time.
