Commercial Description:
Brewed in the bold spirit of Alaska, Sockeye Red IPA is a finely crafted Pacific Northwest-style India Pale Ale with a real bite. Ample pale two-row malt creates a fresh, firm body while specialty malts impart a spawning red hue. The predominant character of this fiesty catch comes from outlandish portions of Centennial, Cascade and Simcoe hops, giving this beer tremendous citrus and floral aroma and flavor. Determined and bitter but amazingly balanced, Sockeye Red is gnarly enough to take you hook, line and sinker. Forget about a bigger rig; grab a bigger glass.

[bottle] shared by skyview. Poured a dark gold with a large off white head that lasts. Aroma is floral hops with some grapefruit character. Very bitter, dry finish.

[Bottle, thanks Skyview!] Pours hazy orange with an off-white head. Aroma is big on fruity tropical smelling hops--mainly pineapple. There is pineapple in the taste as well, but also citrus and a light bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and smooth. Lingering bitterness in the finish. A solid IPA.

Many thanks to skyview for sharing. Massive grapefruit aroma wafts from a huge rocky head. Light orange color. Bitter citrus hop flavor.

Thanks to Skyview! Copper color with a large head. Very citrusy hop aroma. Plenty of bitter and acidic hop flavor. Lots of citrus and orange. Smooth finish.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle; deep transparent amber. Grapefruit, biscuit, caramel, brown sugar aroma; no astringency over top heavy sweetness, just a pleasant balance of bitter fruit acidity and syrupy malt. Flavors are spicy and bitter; sharp pineapple and smooth green spices, mandarin orange, citrus rinds, honeydew. Forceful bitterness, not pushy. Some black tea, grass and jasmine tea in the somewhat vegetally bitter mid palate. Crispy, thin to medium bodied mouthfeel. Dry, semisweet finish with fresh grass, and dry malt, giving way to wild honey in a long finish. Pleasant, highly drinkable rendition; very clean, relaxed and comfortable. Thanks for sharing, Bob!

22 0z. bottle, large head that recedes to soap, a little too piney and medicinal for me, but good overall

Nice drinking IPA. Bitter from a good citrusy hop, some maltiness backbone but its not overly potent. Very drinkable.
