Commercial Description:
Brewed in the bold spirit of Alaska, Sockeye Red IPA is a finely crafted Pacific Northwest-style India Pale Ale with a real bite. Ample pale two-row malt creates a fresh, firm body while specialty malts impart a spawning red hue. The predominant character of this fiesty catch comes from outlandish portions of Centennial, Cascade and Simcoe hops, giving this beer tremendous citrus and floral aroma and flavor. Determined and bitter but amazingly balanced, Sockeye Red is gnarly enough to take you hook, line and sinker. Forget about a bigger rig; grab a bigger glass.

Amber appearance. Great IPA. Not much else to say. Love that it’s only 5.7% but still damn hoppy and tons of flavor. Good malty backbone too. Would be a killer everday IPA.

Strong pineapple aroma with creamy malt notes. Brownish amber color with off white foamy head. Bitter pineapple flavors, citrus, orange, pine, mild malt. Palate is light with mild even carbonation. Bitter duration with a light saltiness. Nice.

The first pour on this 22oz. bottle was all head. A big and rocky one at that. I actually had to wait for it to settle down before I got a decent glassfull. Big malt aroma that I wasn't expecting peppered with hints of cascade and centennial hops. Color is a beautiful reddish orange and slightly hazy. I'm drinking this at 54 degrees. It's a chore right now to work the beer through the enormous head which shows no signs of resting. This brew has an incredibly smooth body. Flavor is balanced with malt and hops and I find it on the bitter side for an IPA and closer to a red ale in my opinion. Maltier than most IPA's also. Not a bad brew but I enjoyed the Cohoho much more.

[bottle] shared by skyview. Poured a dark gold with a large off white head that lasts. Aroma is floral hops with some grapefruit character. Very bitter, dry finish.

Deep orange color with an enormous off-white head. Aroma has caramel, fruits, lots of pine and hops. Flavor brings more of the same, fruity with apples and oranges. Lingering strong bitter finish, off-kilter balance. A decent IPA.

Fantastic hoppy and citrusy aroma from this beer -- very much in your face. The amazing thing is, it remains complex, picking up citrus, berry, hops, and even a bit of alcohol on the nose. Wow. Hope it tastes as good as it smells! The look is a hazy brown, dark, with sediment falling. Beautiful. The taste is very nice; long hoppy aftertaste without too too much bite. Leaves a nice coat on your palate. Very impressive IPA, better than the hop devil for a "darker" IPA.

Pours amber with a big rocky offwhite head. Aroma is stale earthy hops and dull malt. Taste is spicy old hops. finishes even more spicy....old bottle? i may need to rerate.
