PhillyBeer2112 (1840), Orange Park, Florida, USA Feb 2, 2004 Rich floral aroma, spice around the edges. Light caramel notes. Pure amber color with full fluffy and rocky beige head. Rich peppery and herbal hops in the palate. Tingly hop presence but coupled with a nicely smooth full malt palate. Caramelized malts dominate the middle with only a light bitterness in the finish. A general acidic earthiness skirts the sides of the tongue. This is my ideal IPA.
Slick (1956), Minnesota, USA May 21, 2003 Nice super tall head.Darker amber color.you can smell the hops on this one from 2 feet away,This is going to be an adventure. Some what sweet aroma, super hoppy,Possibly a slight hint of citrus.Damn the head just wont die down.I'll have to chance a foamy mustache.Mild malt taste. This baby is hopped to the max.Theres a faint sweet taste at the beginning then bang the hops kick you in the A..,strong and bitter. This brew would be a hop heads dream,me not being one of them can only imagine.Very nice bitter hop after taste that last's.what a brew is all i can say. ElGaucho (1721), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jul 7, 2003 What a pleasant surprise in my care package from slikwily! I believe this is my highest rated IPA, which is my favorite style. Has a rich, hoppy aroma; fragrant and somewhat floral. Huge large bubble, frothy head that lasts and lasts. Beautiful amber body. Excellent lace. Flavor is nice and hoppy. Rich and full-bodied. Improves as it warms. My buddy said they make pretty good beer up their in Alaska. I'll say. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Mar 29, 2004 Updated: Feb 7, 20052003 bomber. Nice medium dark reddish-amber with some swirling oranges and dark golds. Bottle conditioned, humongous persistent sticky white head. Wonderfully resinous smell, very juicy and floral. Chinooks meld well with the cascades creating a hops aroma that is neither too dominant on spiciness or citrus. Flavor is equally juicy, bursting with hops, huge alpha content, floral, sweet and lightly toasty. Bitterness is high but well-balanced by malt. Very solid offering, nice change of pace back to the traditional American IPA (Ive been getting tired of fuggles lately). Lingering sweet, almost fruity finish and aftertaste. Low acidity, very creamy palate. 2004 bomber Still as good as I remember. There’s just something about Red IPAs and Double Reds that I really like, oh wait, it’s the balance. Imagine that. (I also like cascades and centennials, yes I’m boring). JRBowie (17), Anchorage, Alaska, USA Mar 22, 2005 Pours up with a healthy white head. Golden redish hue with sweet lingering arroma. This beer will give you long lasting beer breath do to the HOPPPPPSSSS. Ah that was good.
