On nitro at Beer Baron. It pours a very dark brown color with a thick creamy tan head. The aroma is a little sweet with milk chocolate and roasted malt. A little licorice. The flavor is smooth and creamy with nice chocolate, dense roast and light raisin/fig dark fruit. Very balanced and tasty. Top notch.

Bottle. Pours dark black with a medium to large creamy tan head, slow to dissipate and nice lacing. Aroma is very roasty, chocolate and vanilla. Not really getting maple. Flavor is light sweet and medium bitter, nice and roasty, cocoa notes, a touch of smokiness. Body is a bit light and watery, but otherwise an excellent stout.

On nitro at Harry’s Hofbrau. Pours black with brown head cascading down the glass in small bubbles. This one is a little disjointed and seeking to find itself - perhaps not finding the approval of its father as much as it had hoped. Slight chocolate and restrained roast. Could not be more beautiful in the glass. Was oily and viscous coming out of the pour. Flavor is slight roast coffee and moderate grain.

Nice. Nitro at Capitol Tap Room. Still has the chocolate and molasses and light barrel going on. Less sweet and obviously less body and abv, but VERY nice for a small beer. Super smooth and tasty.

On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours Dark brown with a rich tan head and a chocolate aroma. There is a smooth chocolate and dark molasses flavor with a dry finish. Very tasty, especially for a "small" beer.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours black with a creamy dark tan head. Aroma seems chocolate and dark treacle. Med + body. Flavor is some chocolate and some dark malt that might have treacle (or dark fruit with something sweet?) Really tasty.

Pretty close to black...on 2nd runnings? Wow. Milk chocolate, and Malted milk aroma. Sweet, malted milk, touch of chocolate and sweet finish.

On tap at the Red Hot. Black, thin tan head. Scent is oak, dark chocolate and some alcohol. Taste is a little malty. Kind of bland actually.

Draft sampler at brewery. As second runnings of berserker, this is still black, thick and rich. Aroma of raisin and coffee and spice. Taste is same, with some hops/black malt bitterness on the end. Not as thick as berserker, of course, but still a respectable stout in its own right. I’d drink this every night.

Damn, that’s a HUUUGE small beer! Draft at the brewery. Black. It’s freaking black. Still. Nice clean (weird descriptor but it is) aroma with chocolate and dark fruits. Great flavor, really unique. Soft anise notes, milk/dark chocolate, and blackberry. A notable lack of bitterness, which is a good thing. Smooth, silky palate with medium body. Great beer.
