Pitch black color, dark brown color. Tons of bourbon, molasses, maple syrup. The mouth is very full, sweet, rich maple, molasses, truffles, bourbon, tounge numbing, dark fruit in te mouth. Really warming finish, with lingering truffles, molasses and maple finish. Big beer, very complex.

Pretty close to black...on 2nd runnings? Wow. Milk chocolate, and Malted milk aroma. Sweet, malted milk, touch of chocolate and sweet finish.

Had this on tap at Midnight Sun about a year ago and forgot to rate it. Colour... essentially black with a thin tan head. Nose...dark chocolate, anise and vanillin. Palate...whoa! This is one velvety beer! Thick and creamy with plenty of roasty goodness, burnt caramel, wet earth, anise extract, maduro cigar and plenty of booze on the finish, esp. for only 8% ABV. This is a small beer?? Iíd say that this is a GIANT among small beers!

Dark black in color, clear with a thin head. Huge dark roast malt and light hops aroma. Nice flavor and smooth taste. This comes in at a light 8% but it is terrific. Being a second run this was a very tasty warm brew,

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2009 On tap @ the brewery. This is the second running from the new 2009 Berserker that should be coming out soon (itís on oak right now Apr09). From what the guy at the brewery said the new 2009 Berserker is 14% abv. Aroma is sweet roasted malt with chocolate, caramel. Deep brown with a small tan head. The flavor is sweet with just a slight bitterness. Velvety smooth, with a perfectly mild carbonation. Anywhere else this would be a supreme Imperial Stout, but for the excellent brewers at MS this is just a second running of what should turn out to be an epic Berserker Imperial Stout.

Draft @ Midnight Sun; dense black with thick tan head along the edges; creamy chocolate, vanilla, creamy nuts; light, smooth and roasty; creamy mouthfeel and light flavor profile, yet has a depth to it usually not found in lower ABV stouts; light chocolate and coffee with bone dry nutty finish; almost chewy; good stuff

Draft at Midnight Sun. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and some tart cherry notes. Flavor is mostly roasted malts with some lactic notes and an ever-so-slight tartness. Pretty good for second runnings.

Damn, thatís a HUUUGE small beer! Draft at the brewery. Black. Itís freaking black. Still. Nice clean (weird descriptor but it is) aroma with chocolate and dark fruits. Great flavor, really unique. Soft anise notes, milk/dark chocolate, and blackberry. A notable lack of bitterness, which is a good thing. Smooth, silky palate with medium body. Great beer.

growler to go from the brewery. Black with big tan/brown head. Full body and very smooth flavor with lots of roast malt and milk chocolate. Only a hint of bitterness in the finish. Seems a little sweeter than the original berserker. They should be bottling this stuff.
